He can call me a Scrooge all he wants, but business is business, and pleasure is…well, not something I can afford to think about. Even if it does come packaged in those tight jeans and flannel shirts that make me want to rip them off with my teeth—
No. This is not happening. I will not think of Micah as anything other than an obstacle to getting what I want. A really, really sexy obstacle.

Eine nette, weihnachtliche Kurzgeschichte im typischen Ella Frank und Brooke Blaine Stil. Mich konnte sie nicht überzeugen, aber vllt hatte ich auch zu hohe Erwartungen bei einer Kurzgeschichte dieser Art.
Eine ganz nette Weihnachtsgeschichte für zwischendurch. Sie konnte mich jetzt nicht so vom Hocker hauen wie erhofft, aber bei 150 Seiten (ebook), kann man nichts anderes erwarten. Leider konnte so auch keine Tiefe bei den Charakteren entstehen. Der Funke ist nicht übergesprungen bei mir und genauso fühlte es sich bei den Protagonisten Micah und Maxwell an. Es las sich leider alles sehr „gezwungen“ und „husch husch lass schnell zum Spicy- Teil kommen. Und selbst der Spicy-Teil konnte mich null „erreichen“. Ich hab die Chemie und Dynamik der beiden leider gar nicht gefühlt. Das Hals über Kopf verlieben und „ich kann und will mein Leben nicht ohne dich verbringen“ geschah innerhalb von 3-4 Tagen, für mich leider (wie immer in Franks und Blaines Büchern) sehr unrealistisch.😅 Wie gesagt, nett für zwischendurch aber mehr auch nicht. Aber es ist auch nur ein typischer „weihnachtlicher Happen“ für die Fans, den die Autorinnen jedes Jahr schreiben - nur in anderer Gestalt, mit anderen Charakteren und Setting. 🤷♀️
