I loved Henri aka Vas in the first books, and I truly adore his character! Atlas took some getting used to ... he was quite mean initially, but understanding his miserable past made his grumpiness clearer. He is generally moody, while Vas is pure calm, loved by everyone-which is why they fit together very well. We have Vas the demisexual and a Atlas the demiromantic, which created a fascinating dynamic. It was a huge green flag how Atlas always asked for consent and immediately accepted when Henri disliked something. His family drama was heartbreaking but kept appropriately in the background. Vas's family is charming, and Vas himself is really just perfect. I found it slightly odd that Vas worried about his English when he speaks German and French fluently, and his odd speech patterns were a bit unrealistic, but he is such a Green Flag that it doesn't even matter haha! Atlas had an abrupt change of heart, but their continued friendship showed Vas's incredible patience. I loved how protective Luke was over Vas, warning Atlas to behave himself - I love when friendships aren't pushed in the background and continue playing a big role in the persons life.
