Beschreibung

Fierce, funny and raw, this unflinchingly honest exploration of heartbreak is so much more than a book about one single break-up

This is a love story told in reverse. It's about the best and worst of love: the euphoric and the painful. The beautiful and the messy.

Reeling from a broken heart, Annie Lord revisits the past - from the moment she first fell in love, the shared in-jokes and intertwining of a long-term relationship, to the months that saw the slow erosion of a bond five years in the making.

It is an unflinchingly honest reminder of the simultaneous joy and pain of being in love that will resonate with anyone that has ever nursed a broken heart.

4.5 ⭐️ I guess I just really needed to read this book! <3 “It’s a softer, mellow love that glows in my heart like a warm night light. It makes me proud of who you are now, proud of who I am. It doesn't ask for anything in return, and it doesn’t ask for me to do anything to prove it. It’s the sun on the back of your neck, it’s the ocean lapping at my feet. ‘I love you,’ I say again, and I'm sure we will for the rest of our lives.” Thanks to L for gifting me this book when I was going through a tough time! I guess I really needed to read this, love you <3 If you're looking for a heartfelt and raw exploration of love, I highly recommend Annie Lord’s “Notes on Heartbreak”. The book is described as “a love story told in reverse”, which is such a unique and captivating way to experience the highs and lows of love. Lord’s writing captures both the breathtaking beauty and the messiest parts of love with such depth and vulnerability, unveiling the truth that lies behind. “Notes on Heartbreak” truly stays with you long after you’ve turned the last page. <3 For Lovers of Dolly Alderton, Sally Rooney and Coco Mellors. “Releasing each other might have been our greatest act of love.” “Perhaps Joe and I can carry on loving each other, even when miles of air and experience separate us. (…) But as a quiet love that endures out of respect for the impact he had on my life.” “I was saying 'I love you' to myself. I love you. I love you. I love you. I will try to make sure I do for the rest of my life.”
