Already the first release teasers had made me curious and this although I am not necessarily a detective story reader, I prefer to watch them as series. Anna worked out the story about Oliver and the mute stranger so well, however, that I didn’t notice it further, because the actual thriller aspect was rather transformed into first-hand research. In a few places the transitions went too fast for me, I would have wished for a bit more content, more explanation, in order to be able to understand better why a character does something – and how much influence the Undine actually had on it. The integration of these legendary creatures has succeeded well on the one hand, on the other hand it is a little short for my taste, but I am someone who likes to read excessive explanations about magical beings. Even at the end I didn’t know exactly what the undines of this story actually could do. I liked Oliver right from the start and he remained so throughout the book. His cynical way of doing things definitely makes him one of the highlights of the book. The story has a fascinating composition. The more details come to light, the more the big mystery merges into a coherent whole, as it must be with a good thriller. Even though, as I said, some minor details were missing. The mood of the whole thing is wonderfully captured, the characters seem realistic for their purposes, despite constructed meetings and I am amazed about the coffee consumption of the Danes… Read the full review: Meerschaum
