Beschreibung

In the vein of poetry collections like Milk and Honey and Adultolescence, this compilation of short, powerful poems from teen Instagram sensation @poeticpoison perfectly captures the human experience.  In Light Filters In, Caroline Kaufman—known as @poeticpoison—does what she does best: reflects our own experiences back at us and makes us feel less alone, one exquisite and insightful piece at a time. She writes about giving up too much of yourself to someone else, not fitting in, endlessly Googling “how to be happy,” and ultimately figuring out who you are. This hardcover collection features completely new material plus some fan favorites from Caroline's account. Filled with haunting, spare pieces of original art, Light Filters In will thrill existing fans and newcomers alike.it’s okay if some thingsare always out of reach.if you could carry all the starsin the palm of your hand, they wouldn’t behalf as breathtaking

In my opinion this book was good but for me it wasn't world-changing. Some stanzas made me think about all of it and they also left a conciousness to be aware of the hard topics Kaufman works with in her poetry collection. E.g. "while you were reading this, someone commited suidice. this page is for them." really got me sob a little bit. All in all I expected more but it was kinda okay though

and I know I shouldn’t rely on love from other people. but if someone else can love me, that means it’s possible for me to do it as well. I’ll never be a fan of poetry but compared to books from [a: Amanda Lovelace|15225448|Amanda Lovelace|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1533076817p2/15225448.jpg] or [a: Rupi Kaur|8075577|Rupi Kaur|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1444103068p2/8075577.jpg], this one was fairly decent! There were some poems I liked better than others and ultimately, none of them will stay in my mind forever. However, I did not have the urge to throw it against a wall (as compared to the books mentioned above…), which is always nice. I was able to relate to this collection more than to others. All in all, poetry will never be my genre though, but it's a nice read inbetween multiple books.
