The book is quite different from the tv show, it has nothing to do with online gaming/virtual reality. Leila helps Tess with her suicide by impersonating her on the internet after Tess' (presumed) death. She is in Spain, trying to find Tess or at least find out what happend to her and tells the story of her being Tess on the internet. I liked the psychological aspects of the book and was very happy with the ending.
