Cute and heated F1 Romance!!
What I loved most about „Heart Racing“ were the relationships between the characters. Whether romantic or platonic, everything felt surprisingly healthy – even within the entire Formula 1 team, including the relationship with the boss. That was really refreshing to read. I also really liked the characters in general, they had depth, development and didn’t feel superficial. The romance between Matteo and Nicola was also very well done. He was such a gentleman and a green flag. I love a man who falls first and hard. You’re thrown straight into their story, but the pacing and their development felt very natural. The hate-to-love trope was strongly present – the tension, the provocation and the animosity between them lasted for quite a while, which I absolutely loved. However, the middle part of the book felt a bit dragged out, as some scenes started to feel repetitive. There wasn’t a big plot twist or a real climax – whenever something intense happened, it was de-escalated pretty quickly. It was all a bit too linear. Nonetheless I really liked the story. It wasn’t a huge plot-driven story, but a very enjoyable, character-driven romance with lots of heart and atmosphere.
