Tropes: – witness protection – why choose – brothers – final book
I think the starting point of this final book is a pretty great one, but by resolving the main issue from the cliffhanger from the last book so fast at the beginning of this book, it blows its potential – there were so many directions this could‘ve gone, that‘s also why I was so excited for this book to begin with, and the chosen direction…I don‘t think it‘s bad, I’m just not to 100% happy about it either, and I think it made the plot a bit predictable. And even though I love Shiloh and the guys and I enjoyed their scenes together, this book is too much about them. I feel bad for writing this, but scenes at the cabin and the way there take too much space in my opinion, and I also have a bone to pick with Logan and Ian for their stupidity. The part of the book that really kicks in in my opinion is the showdown at the end. I hoped for it earlier, but regardless I‘m happy to see it happen. Shiloh carried her fear through 3 books, so her finally letting go of that and facing what scared her for so long is so powerful. So even though I may have my fair share of points of critic, this will be always something I look at with a smile. I waited 3 books for it, and it is finally there. conclusion: This book is overall a good ending for the WITSEC series, but I do have some points of critic. I think the biggest issue I have with this book is the fact that I did not get the confrontation I hoped for. Throughout book 1–3 X is this huge danger – due to that I expected more of him than I got. Especially the sequences at Shilohs safe house felt for me too long. 3/5⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️/5
