I found this book interesting up until it reached the point where Fabio joined the MotoGP paddock. There is childhood detail that was not widely known before and some valuable insight into Fabio's character and what was going on behind the scenes as he progressed through the junior competitions. After his first year in Moto3, however, it reads largely as a compilation of post-race interviews. There's very little that would be new to a regular viewer of the sport, and even sensational incidents like Maverick Viñales' dismissal from Yamaha are glossed over in a sentence or two. I understand that, this being an authorised biography and Fabio still being a Yamaha rider, everything will have had to be cleared by PR and legal. Still, the superficial treatment given to some of these events doesn't do justice to what is already known publicly. The last few chapters are almost perfunctory, even when dealing with Fabio's championship itself. A fan seeking insight on this phase of Fabio's life would do better to watch the Amazon documentary, season 1 of There Can Be Only One.
