'Entreat Me' is basically the story of Beauty and the Beast. It follows two sisters with an empoverished merchant father, who, both for their own reasons, venture to an enchanted fortress ruin. There are some new twists to the old story, not too much to diverge but enough to keep you interested. I definitely remember thinking 'oh, I can really picture that' - the language is nice and clear. I also really enjoyed Louvaen's - the protagonist's - character. She doesn't sugarcoat anything and she's quite fierce, reminding me a little of Alexia from The Parasol Protectorate, one of my favorite heroines. What left me confused however was the final solution. I really didn't find the curse breaking part either convincing or logical which left me a little disappointed from that long-awaited climax. Also, in the second half, there was partially maybe a little much 'I want to pounce you as soon as I see you' instead of a deeper relationship development. Still, it was an enjoyable read :) give it a go if you like retellings.
