Beschreibung

Only the greatest sacrifice can turn the tide of war.

War is brewing in the fifth book of the #1 bestselling Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas.

The long path to the throne has only just begun for Aelin Galathynius as war looms on the horizon. Loyalties have been broken and bought, friends have been lost and gained, and those who possess magic find themselves increasingly at odds with those who don't.

With her heart sworn to the warrior-prince by her side and her fealty pledged to the people she is determined to save, Aelin will delve into the depths of her power to protect those she loves. But as monsters emerge from the horrors of the past, dark forces stand poised to claim her world. The only chance for salvation lies in a desperate quest that may take more from Aelin than she has to give, a quest that forces her to choose what-and who-she's willing to sacrifice for the sake of peace.

Kingdoms collide in this fifth book in the #1 New York Times bestselling Throne of Glass series.

oh goddamn. That was good. So incredibly good. But also devastating. Fucking devastating. I may never recover from the pain and agony the last 50 pages erupted in me…. Someone said in their review that this may be the most painful cliffhanger in the history of cliffhangers. I second that statement. Sarah J. Maas is my queen. She reminded me again why, with this book. There are amazing fantasy authors out there. Really really good ones. But Sarah’s way of writing fantasy and characters, her story-telling…. it does something to me. No books ever caused feelings such as an Sarah J. Maas Original. 5

This was emotionally draining. It had its longer moments but built up beautifully to the end BTW the end: whaaaat?

“Where’s my wife”

Emotional damage und trotzdem bisher das beste Buch der Reihe.

„A queen of legends indeed.” I've been too emotionally invested in this book only to find out it was cheating on me. I was so here for all the badass power, the brotherhood and sisterhood, the positive emotion packed scenes, the development of Elide, Manon and Lysandra, the the raw pain and grief und the utter amount of physical action. And then the ending... The amount of pain and agony that bloody ending put me through. I've read it twice because apparently I'm weak, unstable and a masochist. Aelin becomes the best version of herself, by the end she is a queen in her truest form. Her love to Rowan is so pure and I adored them so much. Lysandra is starting to figure out who she truly is and proves that it is so much more than a pretty face. Elide is smart and witty. She proves her skills by outsmarting everyone and taming the feral beast that is Lorcan. Manon faces the truth about her, that she is more than she was raised to be. And she wants to change, but she is still alone and struggling. This book wrecked me and I'm going to be sad for a while. Well... ...„It was all borrowed time anyway.”

I did the tandem read of EOS and TOD. At first I was a bit unsure whether or not I would like that. I thought it might be too much to read two books at the same time, keep switching, keeping ahead of the chapters I’m supposed to read. But with the guide it was just such a fun experience. It made both books come to life. It made the stories go hand in hand, both of them unraveling to great books. SJM build an exceptional suspense throughout Empire of Storms just to bring it all crashing down in a pool of emotions, new revelations and heartbreak at the end of the book. Also a little smut and sexual tension finally coming through in EOS.
