So, Dorothy came back to Oz and the cute, innocent little girl turned into a sultry, mean, hungry for power vamp who is about to destroy everything that made Oz a wonderful place. Now here comes Amy, a not so much loved girl from Kansas who, just as Dorothy, rides on a tornado to Oz and stumbles into a mission to save the land from the Good/Wicked. While I loved the first book (the story, the characters, the world...I mean Oz gone dark, how amazing can that be to read about?) the second one left me a little disappointed. I don't want to give away too much, so I'll just say that the story was a little repetitive, some of the characters became a little annoying and part of the story line just transformed into this cliche YA fantasy thing of tough and troubled girl meets tough and troubled boy. I will probably still read the next book (because the end was really good again) but I also think that I need a break now after the books and the three short stories (which I enjoyed very much by the way. They give valuable background information on the story even though I felt that Jellia's didn't fit perfectly with what happened and was said in the books) in this collection.
