In medieval sources, God is described or depicted as a human communication partner. This is the first historiographical study to examine this ubiquitous phenomenon from a problem-focused and communication-theoretical perspective, helping to deepen the historical understanding of communication with God, which is key to our comprehension of the history of Latin Europe in the Middle Ages.
