Court of Ice and Ash: The Broken Kingdoms, Book 2

Same as the first one, the second book was pretty mid as well (but I have the audiobooks for free, so I guess we're doing this). The structure was pretty similar to the first one too. In the last 20% of the book, the story picked up and got a little exciting, though I'm not satisfied how [spoiler!] Jarl survives again. He doesn't seem to be a outstanding fighter and just lives on to assault Elise again in the next book, I guess. Most characters feel pretty flat, like e.g. Elise's sister, who seems to cruel and nothing else.

4.5 stars omg this one GUYS THIS ONE WAS SO NUCH BETTER AA ok yeah i already know the characters and the world but so so much better i feel like every book just gets better and better not only the action but DEFINITELY THE ROMANCE and valen is sooo down bad i mean as he should but so good!! the whole going back to not really being together and valen wanting distance from elise to keep her safe in a way so good and her not giving him anytime of the day because she was done being always so pull and all and getting back and forward with him but obviously they couldn't be apart and i think their journey is beautiful!! ari is such a good addition to the story and how wit and cocky and also charming he is even tho he didn't trust valen right away or he didn't even know who he truly was, it was fun seeing him getting on valen's nerves because of elise he did gave me more motivation to be with her or to really feel he couldn't not be with her and how much he cares and so deeply truly amazing and his pov was everything im so in love i will definitely read the third and unfortunately their last one but im excited also scared because even tho i Linda figured it out the "plot twist" i mean i suspected truly and i was right, it was still so good and i screamed and got so sad too because poor guy using him like that...... but yeah SO READY FOR THE THIRD ONE alsooo mattis was back and finally got together with siv ehehe even tho it did took a while and a lot of "fighting" but they are together finally!!! but the bound between valen and halvar and tor is my favourite for sure i love them
