What a cute love-story - almost rom-com style with a bit of a twist. This is the third book in the Toxic Paradise series and I highly recommend reading the other two first. Loved the way Dex fall for Niki and how slowly Niki was able to open up and let other people in. I think Niki is a character with issues (miscommunication and trust issues) that a lot of people can relate to. (True, not all of us are criminal brides that are sold like cattle..but the overall themes are understandable). This FMCs character is a bit different from the others written by Marie Maravilla. She is a fierce woman in her own right, but just less "shoot/unalive and then ask questions" like Ryan or Scar. I liked the reunion of all the characters, but did not fully get the last plot twist caused by one of the beloved characters...to me it felt a bit out of character.. But overall I love Marie Maravillas writing style, especially how she writes about badass women who just don't give a F!
