Der nicht ganz so perfekte Abschluss
Leider ist Band 4 von Stalking Jack the Ripper nicht ganz so gelungen wie seine Vorgänger. Ja, die Figuren sind nach wie vor mit viel Liebe gezeichnet, doch der vierte Band zieht sich stellenweise sehr. Erst auf den letzten 100 Seiten nimmt die Geschichte wirklich Fahrt auf. Schade ist auch, dass das berüchtigte Hotel von H. H. Holmes nur am Rande thematisiert wird – hier hätte man sich deutlich mehr Tiefe und Atmosphäre gewünscht.
Ein schönes Ende für die Serie, auch wenn ich es nicht so spannend fand wie die anderen Teile war capturing the devil ein gelungener Abschluss.

What an emotional roller coaster
Ein brillanter Abschluss und ein schönes Ende dieser Reihe!
Mir haben die ersten drei Bücher schon sehr gut gefallen und das letzte Buch hat mich nicht enttäuscht. Die Geschichte um die Morde sowie um die Liebe werden perfekt abgeschlossen. Im letzten Buch rückt auf jeden Fall auch die Beziehung zwischen Audrey Rose und Thomas etwas mehr in den Fokus und nimmt als Slow Romance einen Teil des Buches ein. Die Spannung war schon fast Folter, ich wollte das Buch schon nicht mehr aus der Hand legen und konnte es kaum abwarten bis das Geheimnis endlich gelüftet wird... Die spannende Geschichte der Reihe und der tolle Schreibstil der Autorin lassen einen Leser über die Seiten nur so hinweg fliegen. Insgesamt eine sehr gute Recherchearbeit und tolle Umsetzung der Autorin. Spannend wie alle drei Bücher aufeinander aufbauen und das letzte Buch sich letztendlich wieder dem Anfang in Bezug auf die Morde und auch auf die Liebe widmet.

Ein wirklich schöner Abschluss für diese Reihe. In diesem Teil wird über die Hälfte des Buches mit der Slow Romance verbracht was mich persönlich eigentlich nicht störte da ich diese Liebesbeziehung sehr schön fand. Zum Schluß hin haben dann die Morde und die Spannung deutlich zugenommen. Ich finde es im ganzen ein wirklich gelungenes Ende und ich werde Thomas und Wadsworth vermissen.
Der Teil hat mir eindeutig am besten con allen gefallen. Ich war von ersten Moment an gefesselt und nur so durch die Seiten geflogen. Die Chemie zwischen Audrey Rose und Thomas ist wieder Mal grandios und ich freue mich sehr, dass beide ihr Happy End bekommen haben.
Ein tolles Ende für eine grandiose Reihe. Es war so genial Charaktere wieder zu treffen und ei. Rätsel endgültig zu lösen . Auch die historische Arbeit dahinter war wieder sehr faszinierend. Definitiv eine meiner liebsten Reihen die es gibt.
I am a little torn between a 3 and a 4-star rating for this book, but since the Epilogue brought some tears to my eyes, just because it was so amazing, I decided on a 4-star rating! Plot This book focusses more heavily on the romance part of the story, rather than the murder mystery, which is not what I expected. Whilst the romance definitely was developing throughout the first three books in the series, it never was the center of the plot at all. However, for about the first half of the book (almost) the only plot-point of this book is the romance and some hurdles that the characters have to overcome. Because I loved the murder mystery aspect of the first three books so much, I was a bit taken aback by the strong focus on the characters' love story in this book. In the second half of the book, however, the mystery part took over, although I do have to say that, compared to the first three books in the series, it was super easy to find out who the villain was, and what his goals were. Nevertheless, it was great to see the mystery unfold, and even though I knew who it was, the book still had some twists and turns which I did not see coming; this, I really appreciated. Characters I love these characters so much, and I appreciate every single one of them. Thomas Cresswell is the perfect book-boyfriend one could ever have, and I truly appreciate his treatment of women and Audrey Rose in this book. A feminist icon tbh. The same goes for Audrey Rose. Whilst I was just a bit annoyed with her in the first few parts of the series, she really grew as a character and her independence really stood out in this book. I appreciated her ability to solve her problems on her own, without having to rely on a man. That's a whole 10/10. Things I loved about the series in general The murder mystery parts. These books are really worth the read if you are into YA mystery thrillers! The character development of our main protagonists. I love seeing them grow on their own accounts. The settings. Each book takes place in a different location, each of them really distinct, and the atmosphere they carry with them is supreme. The audiobooks are fantastic for this series. The narrator does an extremely good job of portraying the feelings of the characters with the alterations of her voice; this makes the whole experience 10x better.
