Dude, I love Ruby Dixon so much. No matter what she writes, she always manages to bring me with her and I love her for it. So this book focuses on Rhagos, God of Death, who after the Anticipation lived in the first book, feels lonely and wants a companion similar to what Aron found in Faith. He decides to make a deal with the Spidae and live through his Anticipation all over again, but this time he'll have a different anchor, choosen by the Spidae. In comes Max, a girl with a shitty job and cool hobbies, who gets thrown into this new world to be Rhagos's anchor. I just loved it. I read some reviews before reading, as I usually do, and some were pretty harsh with Max on some points, *spoiler* like not realising Rhagos was lies. But I disagree, I was confused too at first and after a while I wanted her to figure it out, but putting myself in her shoes, inside the situation, I probably wouldn't have understood either. So I wasn't bothered. Max isn't the most intelligent of heroines, but you can't have everything. Max is compassionate and strong, she made do with what she had, she was positive through some pretty shitty situation and I actually related to her a lot because she didn't have everthing figured out. IDK, I feel like some people just want to dislike heroines, it's pretty confusing. Anyway, I really like Rhagos too! The Aspect chosen was very interestion on Ruby's part. I liked the idea of dwelling on a lonely god who did everything to get a companion, and not getting what he expects but ending up with everything he needed. Very fluffy and I love it. Of course, the world building is great in this series, the lore is so developped and well tohught out. It's based on mythology but it's different enough that you don't have greek gods in the back of your mind while reading. It's just great. Honestly, I know the next book is about Kassam but I really want a book on the Spidae and Yulena, we're never getting I know, but even a novella would please me so so much. 5 stars and counting!
