Plot: The day her best friend was murdered, Judith disappeared. Two years later, she returns home. Her voice stolen by a unbelievably horrible crime. Nobody knows what has happened to her and she can't tell. As an outcast, she has to go on living her life, which has been turned upside down. Besides the fact, that her best friend is gone, she also must deal with her love Lucas now marrying another one. But to save herself, her love and maybe her whole village she will have to reveal the truth about the terryfying incidents of the past. My opinion: As I bought this book two days ago, I didn't really know what to expect. So did I, when I started reading it. Admittedly, at first I got a little confused, because the author Julie Berry is immediately taking the reader into the story, and so it took a little while for me to get used to it. Main character Judith tells the story dedicated to another character the story (as if it was a letter), whose identity the reader gets to know pretty soon. By that, I got so into the story, and could see everything right before my eyes. The story itself switches fluently between the present and past scenes, who`'ll let the reader discover more and more about the background of everyhting. The characters are very deep, as I think, and not, as they seem to be at first(for example: a very unpleasant character suddenly becomes surprisingly nice and helpful), especially Judith. Throughout the whole story, I was pulled into the story more and more, as it got more tense and thrilling all the time, and it happened, that I read it in a single day. All in all, I think that everyone, who likes this nerve-tickling kind of tension that won't make it possible for you to stop reading, should definitely read this book, which has touched me deep inside and which is definitely one of my favourite books ever. Can't wait to read more books of Julie Berry!
