The study examines the process of organizational learning, specifically the development, preservation, transfer, and implementation or application of tactical knowledge for warfare. Based on a wide range of sources, the study offers new and illuminating insights into military learning processes. The German army was neither an organization unwilling to learn nor an extremely adaptive “genius of war” (T.M. Dupuy).
