Tolle Kurzgeschichte😊
Ich liebe Chimamandas Schreibstil🫶🏾 Sie spricht gesellschaftliche Themen an und lässt immer wieder die afrikanische Kultur miteinfließen. Würde ich generell jedem empfehlen:)
Although I liked it the story feels incomplete. Nonetheless it was well written.
To be honest, I don't understand what the story wants to tell me. I get the superficial plot and meaning, but the deeper context, while I assume it's there, doesn't open up to me. Don't know if that's because I'm neuro-divergent or because I simply lack any of the necessary experience, being asexual, not having children, and all. Maybe both. But I wish the emotional and philosophical content would've been explained, really put into clear words and not just been hinted at, especially regarding the mother.
What a powerful short story! A woman in labor reflects about her love life, achievements and her troubled family bonds. Ultimately, she proves the strength of a lioness when she gives birth to a healthy baby boy. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has a reflexive writing style depicting a narrative replete with spot-on metaphors. I want to read more of her books!
