🇩🇪 Wow, das war für mich wie eine Achterbahnfahrt von Anfang bis Ende! Am Anfang hat es sich ewig hingezogen, bis es endlich spannend wurde, aber dann ging‘s ab ab. Wenn es nicht John Marrs‘ grandioser Schreibstil wäre, hätte ich wohl nur drei Sterne gegeben. Aber nein — es ist John Marrs, und ich LIEBE seinen Stil! Ich hab ziemlich gefeiert, wie sich Liv und Margot ständig gegenseitig anzicken. Ein bisschen wie diese Übertreibungen in Comedy, die erst harmlos mit ein paar Sticheleien anfangen und zunehmend eskalieren, bis Stühle durch die Gegend fliegen. Im ersten Drittel war ich erst ein bisschen gelangweilt und ziemlich verwirrt, aber am Ende hat alles wunderbar Sinn ergeben. Dieser abgefahrene Thriller mit seinen Twists hat mich beim Crosstraining letztlich bestens unterhalten! John Marrs ist eine sichere Bank für mich, wenn es um gute Unterhaltung geht 👍🏻 (Spoiler!) Eine kleine Unstimmigkeit ist mir aber doch aufgefallen: Liv hat eine Bodycam getragen, als sie angefahren wurde, und diese soll sich beim Aufprall von ihr gelöst und weggeschleudert haben. Später erwähnt sie aber, dass die Bodycam die Momente nach dem Unfall, als Margot zurückkam, aufgezeichnet hat. Irgendwie passt das für mich nicht so ganz — oder übersehe ich da was? 🤔 🇺🇸 Wow, for me this was like a rollercoaster ride from start to finish! At first, it dragged on forever until it finally got exciting — but then it really took off. If it weren’t for John Marrs’ fantastic writing, I probably would have only given it three stars. But no — it’s John Marrs, and I absolutely LOVE his hilarious style! I had a blast watching Liv and Margot constantly bickering. It’s a bit like those over-the-top comedy moments where things start with harmless jabs and then escalate until chairs are flying across the room! During the first third, I was a little bored and pretty confused, but in the end, everything came together perfectly. This wild thriller, with all its crazy twists, kept me thoroughly entertained during my cross-training session! John Marrs is always a safe bet when it comes to fun entertainment for me. 👍🏻 (Spoiler!) One small inconsistency did catch my eye: Liv was wearing a bodycam when she got hit by the car, and it supposedly flew off during the impact. Later, though, she mentions that the bodycam recorded the moments after the crash, when Margot came back. That doesn’t quite add up for me — or am I missing something? 🤔

I’m torn about this one. I really like the style of every John Marrs book but they sometimes lack something for me and I cannot exactly say what it is. It’s the same with this book. The story was okay but not spectacular. It had some moments where it really surprised me but overall it left me feeling kind of underwhelmed. Not my least favorite John Marrs book but not my favorite either.
