loved it!
To be honest? It was a rollercoaster of emotions. But as always, I'm here for it! I didn't like Naomi at the start, started liking her, then started disliking her again. Probably all because the decisions she took weren't always the ones I would have wished for her to go with. So it was kinda hard reading how it turned out not so good. BUT at the end I loved it because I understood why everything happens the way it did. It maybe would've been another ending if it wouldn't have gone that way and I love the ending. I hoped for it to go that way and couldn't been happier of how it turned out. That book made me laugh so hard at some point that it's was this silent kind of laugh were you're near dying and I love that. so so good. I really love Naomi an Nicholas!
Naomi wants out, but there's a catch: whoever ends the engagement will have to foot the nonrefundable wedding bill. When Naomi discovers that Nicholas, too, has been feigning contentment, the two of them go head-to-head in a battle of pranks, sabotage, and all-out emotional warfare. But with the countdown looming to the wedding that may or may not come to pass, Naomi finds her resolve slipping. Because now that they have nothing to lose, they're finally being themselves--and having fun with the last person they expect: each other.
OKAYYY… I’m going to give this book 3 stars. I don’t know why but somehow I expected a little bit more. This is my first book by Sarah Hogle but it just wasn’t for me. The end was cute and there were definitely some sweet and cute scenes and I like and get the message about putting work in your relationship but there was just so much going on😭. One minute they are fighting and hating each other like crazy and the other they are in love with each other again and being lovey-dovey. But they spent so much time being childish and manipulative to each other that it was just a little too much for my liking. They had such a big miscommunication (sometimes I like it if it’s well done) but the whole problem would have been solved if they just TALKED with each other. Maybe it would have been better for me if we got a Nicholas POV, but we didn’t🥲. At first it was very confusing why they were even in a relationship in the first place. Maybe flashbacks would have shown us the love they once had but they also weren’t any of that. Nicholas' mother was also so fucking annoying bro and the way she was behaving and body-shamed Naomi and so much more ?? 😀. Yeah no thanks, happy not to have a mom like that. Anyway, I’m definitely going to give Sarah Hogle another chance someday with a different book and hope I’m going to like it better than this one. And don’t get me wrong, it’s not TERRIBLE or smth but that’s just my feelings and opinion !!

Lustig ist was anderes.
Final rating is 2 and a half stars but I decided to round up because I at least felt positive at the end. The huge problem of You Deserve Each Other is that the first sixty percent and the last fourty percent feel like two different books. There was no real middle connecting the two, no transition between Naomi and Nicholas hating and then loving each other. Not to me anyway. I really hated being in Naomi's head for large parts of the book because she was so bitter, disconnected and mean-spirited, especially during the first half of the book. It was really hard to read and the book simply didn't deliver on the fun ride it was supposed to me. What stuck with me is that after all they did to each other in the first half is that they would end up together. I just don't see it.
REREAD from 31 Dec 2022: it’s 3:13 am, I’m lying in the dark sobbing to The Great War by Miss Swift. good night _________________________________________________ INITIAL REVIEW from 27 Dec 2021: i don’t think i’m revealing anything new by saying this was a delight! it had the underlying lonely, wild and raw undertones that i liked about The Hating Game, while taking the relationship between Naomi and Nicholas into a completely different direction. following along as they discover each other anew had me laughing aloud and teary eyed. ↳ will i be rereading? hell yes
cute
