I flew through it AND LOVE LOVE LOVED IT!
3.5✨ - Mir hat das Buch gefallen, allerdings hatte ich mir mehr erhofft… Lily King ist es wirklich gut gelungen, eine realistische bzw. authentische Geschichte zu schreiben, die so wirkt, als wäre sie direkt aus dem Leben gegriffen. Man begleitet Casey bei ihrem stressigen Alltag, ihrer Arbeit im Restaurant und durchlebt ihre Sorgen: Schulden, fehlende Krankenversicherung, Perspektivlosigkeit, Trauer. Die Story erzählt die Wirklichkeit auf so ehrliche Weise, dass es manchmal, trotz der Ernsthaftigkeit, sogar witzig war! Dennoch konnte mich das Buch nicht ganz abholen, da mir vor allem bei der Liebesgeschichte die Emotionen gefehlt haben.
THIS BOOK, you guys. i loved it so much. the story of casey, a struggling writer who falls in love and experiences loss and is trying to get her life together somehow was the best thing i've read in a really really long time. it felt like it was written just for me. what i loved most about this book: * it's a story about an artist, about a woman with a passion who loves what she does even when it's hard * it's a beautiful coming of age-narrative about a woman finding & creating her space in the world. * there's lots of romance but also a strong focus on friendship. * it tells you that it's not too late to live the life you want; you don't have to have everything figured out by the time your 20s are over. good things take time. * plus, the last sentence made me tear up a bit. then i flipped the page to the drawing of the little geese and started full on CRYING.
