■ First of all, thank you so much to the author for reaching out to me and providing me with a digital copy of White Season in exchange for a review! ■ Plot: Mount Frogmore is fully powdered for winter where Toby and EJ are commencing their first shift together – it doesn’t kick off well. Toby’s working the mountain as a promise he’s more than happy to break whilst EJ’s a savage and seasoned snow bum looking for something more than what he’s already been dealt – both are certain they’ll hate each other.. Their first shift together includes Vikings, a car fire and all the makings to ensure some mutual resentment… but a broken brake line leads them to something they didn’t expect in the beginning. Something that might just get them both through the icy madness of the season… and to where they both need to be. Maybe… just maybe… they might not hate each other. ■ I especially enjoyed reading this book because of its setting: Australia. A couple of years ago, I attended a seminar at uni and it was all about Australian culture. I was introduced to a few movies/books and just learned more about Australia in general and even wrote a mini paper about Voss, a novel by Australian writer Patrick White. All of this made me look forward to reading White Season! ■ It was also really interesting to read and find out a bit more about Auslan, which is the majority sign language of the Australian deaf community. ■ What is more, both protagonists, Toby and EJ, felt very relatable at times. I’ve also grown to really like the friendship between the two of them
