A TV meteorologist and a sports reporter scheme to reunite their divorced bosses with unforecasted results in this electrifying romance from the author of The Ex Talk.

Ari Abrams has always been fascinated by the weather, and she loves almost everything about her job as a TV meteorologist. Her boss, legendary Seattle weatherwoman Torrance Hale, is too distracted by her tempestuous relationship with her ex-husband, the station’s news director, to give Ari the mentorship she wants. Ari, who runs on sunshine and optimism, is at her wits’ end. The only person who seems to understand how she feels is sweet but reserved sports reporter Russell Barringer.

In the aftermath of a disastrous holiday party, Ari and Russell decide to team up to solve their bosses’ relationship issues. Between secret gifts and double dates, they start nudging their bosses back together. But their well-meaning meddling backfires when the real chemistry builds between Ari and Russell.

Working closely with Russell means allowing him to get to know parts of herself that Ari keeps hidden from everyone. Will he be able to embrace her dark clouds as well as her clear skies?

Okayyy so, wow! I really liked the idea behind this book. It’s the first time I read a book by RLS and I’m pleasantly surprised. I really liked the Jobs chosen in this book, haven’t read anything like it yet. Our main character, Ari, is a meteorologist and doesn’t think that weather is just small talk. I haven’t thought about it that way like she did but I actually kinda get it. Then we have Russell, a sports reporter that was a goalie in his early days. I really liked both of them; they were such green flags and I really liked the talk they had after their 'fight/break up' . Seth (Russell’s boss) and Torrance (Aris boss) were honestly so entertaining but when they finally got together I was so happy cause they just go well together😭. I really liked the smut scenes because they didn’t 'fuck' but rather had a really good chemistry. Russell was such a green flag; always asking her if she’s okay and respecting her boundaries etc (bare minimum but still rare these days so I js enjoyed it😀). DONT GET ME STARTED ON THE FLUFF, I LOVE FLUFF BRO. Can I just say that I LOVED a chubby love interest. Ofc I love bodies with abs and biceps etc but finally some appreciation for a DAD BOD🫣. And he literally had a Dad bod since he’s a dad 🫦 LMAO. Anyway, I found it surprising when we found out he had a twelve year old daughter (Elodie) but I really liked her!! Since his age wasn’t mentioned for a long time I kinda thought it would be a big age gap but it turns out he had her when he was 17 :o . Tbh I’m 17 now and I couldn’t image myself being a mother like I definitely am NOT ready for it mentally or physically💀. He was a really great dad tho 🫶🏻. A thing I could really relate to is Aris depression. Such an important topic to be talked about ! I’m gonna be honest, I’m not diagnosed with depression or anything so I don’t want to say the wrong thing, but I’ve thought for some years that I might have depression too and I feel EXACTLY like her so it was just so relatable for me. I’m scared to get help cause of many things and I don’t want to keep talking about myself but I just really felt understood. I always feel like I’m too much, unlovable, and the way the 'dark days' were described was just so beautiful that I can’t even put it into words. I really loved them being engaged at the end🫶🏻. Normally, I HATE it when people propose on other peoples weddings cause you’re making a day for them about yourself ykwim. BUTTT, in this case I actually really liked it😭. Russell had consent from Seth and Torrance and if you think about it their Relationships were so intertwined that I found it cute how he proposed to Ari on Seths&Torrances Wedding💕. Overall, I really liked the book it was so cute ! It took me a while to read it but I finally finished it hahah.

Read the sample but felt no emotional connection to the main character because the writing felt so detached.

What I enjoyed: + characters rep (plus size, jewish characters, and depressed mc) + TV station as workplace, with focus on weather and sports + Theater references + Seattle setting + fun setting up scheming + clumsy and fun sex scenes What I didn't enjoy as much: - the pacing - how close to the end the drama was resolved - the epilogue set years in the future

Fun and cute premise, a lot of sunshine, feel good, lighthearted atmosphere, loved the plus size hero representation, but I was missing a little spark

“The people who love us the most have the power to hurt us the most, too.” “I meant it when I told you before: I want every version of you.” “I love every version of you.” “Being a person is hard.” “And I wanted a hero who’d love her through her dark days, not despite them - because to me, that is the most romantic thing.”
