This is the abusive Walmart version of the unwanted wife and while I always try to find something positive even in the worst books, I couldn't do it here. The hero is an absolute mess and not believable. Sorry but I don't buy his "redemption". His pet names for her were so embarrassing I really couldn't deal and had to skim The heroine is one crying, stuttering mess you just wanna beat the sh*t out of. While I felt for her being raped and abused by this fool I couldn't stand her constant crying and weak personality and if I-I h-have t-to read one more s-stuttering line I'm gonna l-lose it. My God, she was so damn annoying. The romance was a bad version of the unwanted wife. Like a really, really bad version. Ridiculous, OTT dramatic and not believable at all. The other characters were just as ridiculous and flat. Dianne, Annette and Theresa were ridiculous, her mother and his father too. This felt like a really bad soap opera where you want to strangle everyone. One of the worst books I've read this year.
