Unterhaltsam - aber: müssen wir solche Protas wirklich so sehr romantisieren??

Mein erstes Buch von L.J. Shen und was soll ich sagen. Ich mochte die Nebenprotagonisten recht gerne, und Emilia als Hauptprota eigentlich auch. Für mich war die Story auch recht aufregend und es hat mich gut unterhalten, aber je öfter ich Bücher mit diesen toxischen (in dem Fall etwas soziopathisch/psychopathischen) Protagonisten lese, frage ich mich, ob das wirklich richtig ist das alles so zu romantischen 😅 Vicious als männlicher MC ist super sexy und super vicious - daher eben sein Spitzname. Und das stimmt in diesem Buch auch wirklich. Er zieht teilweise Dinge ab, die absolut gar nicht gehen und ich musste während dem Lesen auch wirklich oft den Kopf schütteln. Wie gesagt: es ist unterhaltsam, ja. Aber ich denke da auch oft an jüngere Leserinnen die vielleicht irgendwie mehr beeinflussbar sind - und das kann doch nicht gut sein, oder?? Ich selbst kann das gut trennen und persönlich finde ich das in Büchern ab und zu auch einfach spannend und aufregend, aber ich bin mir auch bewusst darüber, dass es in der Realität ein absolutes no-go ist. Dann kommt hinzu, dass Emilia hier irgendwie um ehrlich zu sein für sich selbst kaum Konsequenzen zieht. Im Gegenteil, vicious krankhaften (kriminellen) Handlungen werden romantisiert dargestellt - er tut es ja schließlich nur, weil er sie liebt. Ohne es richtig bewusst zu begreifen. Ich meine come on, das geht doch nicht. Und dann immer dieses "sie wird mir gehören". Wtf. Klingt natürlich sexy, aber irgendwie denke ich mir immer öfter, dass man hier auch irgendwie aufpassen sollte, welches Bild man zeichnet, oder? Ich bin was das betrifft jedenfalls immer wieder hin und her gerissen, auch was die Bewertung betrifft. Deshalb hier jetzt mal 3 Sterne . Vicious war mir einfach zu krass Emilia gegenüber 🙈 Emilia hingegen war irgendwie wie eine fliege im Spinnennetz und hat so gar nicht realisiert, wie psycho Vicious eigentlich ist. Eine richtige lernkurve oder Charakterentwicklung gab es auch nicht.. Also kurz gefasst: für mich zwar sehr unterhaltsam, aber mit einem moralisch sehr Faden Beigeschmack! Dennoch möchte ich Band 2 lesen 😅

This was really mid but im giving it 4 stars because he was absolutely hilarious and unhinged (and my type)

After i heared a lot of good things about Vicious by L.J.Shen so i expacted a lot of this book. L.J. did a good Job because i was totally caught by Vicious and Emila. The style of writing of L.J.Shen was very catching. The way she wrote important Situations and the methophers and adjustments she used to show as the world of Todos Santos. Also share the thoughts of her Charakters. It had been interesting, that we had one character out of the World form the rich people. That Fact i all ready while i read Fallen Heir by Erin Watt these summer. So enjoyed it in Miss Shen's Book also. I really liked the Fact that Some new parts are intigrated by L.J.Shen to the story by a rich boy fall in love with an ordenary girl. The Idea of adding a Hate to Love in her Story L.J.Shen did grate job by showing the thoughts and feelings of both of her main Characters. It was very easy for me to understand both of even if I wouldn't act the same way if i'm in the same situation. The way Miss Shen parted her story between her tow main charakters and also between ten years ago and today. That fact made the story so much more interesting. It was hard to stop listing because i wanna to now how the both story are linked. Also the Humor in this story is amazing besides these is not an easy theme. Sometimes many times i have to say i have to laugh out loud. Also the Story had moments in them i was like WTF did that really just happend. The Side Kicks in these Story where brougth in way that they are helping the plot. Vicious is a character who isn't bad as he seems in the first place. He is Fighter and he fights hard. L.J did a grate job by showing his feelings and reasons why he act like he does. Somewher deep in him must be a good guy. Emilia on the own hand is the incarnate Kindness. But on the other hand she is a fighter. iwas amzede by the she dealt with the whole Sitation. To conclude you can say that, L.J created an emotional and catching story. With characters you hate and love the same time while reading. There had been so many emotinal moment in this story sometimes i had to fight tears. Also she showed in a perfect way how near love hate are together. So now wounder these book gets five of five stars

Das Buch hat alles, was ein Buch für mich braucht - Drama, Intrigen, Liebe und Sex. Das hier war wie die Geschichte von Chuck und Blair zu lesen und ich hab’s geliebt! Habe mir sofort die Fortsetzungen bestellt und bin sehr gespannt!

this was horrible. it was extremely superficial (especially the mmc) and i DNFed it at some point idk when though

I don‘t know what to think of it. I just can’t understand the appeal of bully romances. I can understand enemies to Lovers and I really like them but bully romances are something else. And calling her Help? Just so condescending. But the presence was cute at times, especially in the end when they both admitted their love for each other.

I had a hard time getting this guy and feeling anything but disgust for him. Im not sure how he is supposed to be nice and seriously falling for an arse hole like Vic. OMG!! Anyway it was steamy but if it were real Id be worried for her.

Vicious is such an unlikeable character, but you end up rooting for him by the end.
