“Hilarious. A remarkable debut.” —Stephen Chbosky, #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Perks of Being a Wallflower
“A buddy road trip novel so funny, touching, and surprising, readers will forget it’s also important. Honest and relatable!” —Alex Flinn, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Beastly
Seventeen-year-old Veronica Clarke never thought she’d want to fail a test—that is, until she finds herself staring at a piece of plastic with two solid pink lines. With a college-bound future now disappearing before her eyes, Veronica considers a decision she never imagined she’d have to make: an abortion.
There’s just one catch—the closest place to get one is over nine hundred miles away. With conservative parents, a less-than-optimal boyfriend, and no car, Veronica turns to the only person who won’t judge her: Bailey Butler, a legendary misfit at Jefferson High—and Veronica’s ex-best friend.
What could go wrong? Not much, apart from three days of stolen cars, crazed ex-boyfriends, aliens, ferret napping, and the betrayal of a broken friendship that can’t be outrun. Under the starlit skies of the Southwest, Veronica and Bailey discover that sometimes the most important choice is who your friends are.
This breakout novel is from authors Jenni Hendriks (writer for How I Met Your Mother) and Ted Caplan (music editor for The Hate U Give).

„No one should be forced to be a parent if they don’t want to be one.“ Man there are some weirdos in these reviews. That’s why I felt like I had to leave my mark here. I loved this book. It’s ridiculously funny and a super easy fast read. I personally love fast paced books, so I didn’t mind that this one got straight to the point and delivered. Because it really did! Abortion is a super important topic that a lot of people seem to be weird as heck about. Books that humorize such topics are so so so needed! YES. The main character wants to get an abortion and that’s how we are thrown into the story. But that’s not what the book is solely about! This story is about friendship and how especially as a young adult/ teenager a lot of people struggle with peer pressure and create fake and even toxic relationships and friend groups. Finding out who you’re true friends are and those who are just easier to maintain. This book is about what it’s like to be in an estranged relationship with your parents. Abortion is a human right and it is incredibly sad what happened in the last couple of years. How backwards it went in the US… I feel scared and sad for women in those states not being able to get procedures that are their right! Yes, this author had the right to write this book, because Abortion is a topic that is not talked about enough in the positive state that it is written about in this one!

Ganz große Bailey Liebe und für dieses Buch! Einige Änderungen im Film finde ich tatsächlich besser, aber immer noch ein tolles tolles Buch!
