Every time I thought everything is finally out in the open the whole plot just turned again. The story is told in dual POVs and timelines. Grady Green is the definition of the unreliable narrator trope in a locked room mystery plot. The isle of Amberly was so vividly described that she felt like an additional character. I mean constantly changing weather, the island's folklore, a ferry that mysteriously never seems to have an outgoing schedule, the pounding sea, towering trees and forest, residents with fake smiles and suspicious stares and the writing cabin atop a cliff's edge that once belonged to another author, now deceased. Add to that the underlying tension throughout the whole book, a sinister vibe and an unguessable conclusion and it was Feeney at her finest.

Achtung SPOILER Achtung SPOILER Achtung SPOILER . . . Schön wie die Menners ihr eigenes Verhalten gegenüber Frauen zu fressen bekommen, nur perfider. 🖤
ok I dnf it at 50% and I saw some potential in it but she ruins it. I liked the articles or the setting of island and didn't want Grade's parts to finish but the old things like that abuse part with his music teacher which when I read it, I became so excited about a good book but when I got one of the reasons is that they don't have enough connection anymore which is so boring.
