Um Lockes Part aus Cruel prince besser zu verstehen war die Novelle sehr gut. Auf der anderen Seite heult Taryn nur rum und versucht sich vor sich selber zu rechtfertigen 😂
Da stimmt wirklich das Sprichwort "Brüderlich geteilt, schwesterlich beschissen".
Kleiner feiner Zusatzband
Diesen recht übersichtlichen Zusatzband aus dem Cruel Prince Universum habe ich in einem Abend weggelesen. Mir gefiel es sehr, Taryns Sichtweise kennenzulernen und das wie und warum zu hören, warum sie sich für Locke entschieden hat. Auch wenn ich Taryn in den drei Hauptbüchern nicht wirklich mochte, so habe ich ihr Wesen und ihre Beweggründe nach dem Lesen doch sehr gut verstehen können und konnte sie definitiv mehr leiden als vor dem Lesen. (Anders als bei einer anderen Schwester - *Hust* Nesta *Hust*.) Ihre Faszination für Locke werde ich allerdings nie nachvollziehen können. Neue Informationen bezüglich der Hauptstory gab es nicht und die habe ich auch nicht erwartet, daher wurde ich hier weder enttäuscht noch großartig überrascht.

Schöne Geschichte für Fans der Reihe, jedoch nicht wirklich notwendig. Ich finde den Schreibstil in der 2. Person aber interessant!

Ich habe diese Novelle nur gelesen mit einen Schimmer Hoffnung Taryn mehr zu verstehen.(Da ich die Spin-off Reihe von Oak und Wren lesen möchte und ich gehört habe das Sie darin vorkommt) Aber das einzige was sie dort beigetragen hat war ein reinstes „mimimimi“, „Jude macht dies und das falsch“ und „Ich liebe Locke so sehr“ Ich kann einfach nicht verstehen wie man sie akzeptieren oder gar leiden kann.(Sie ist blind wie ein Huhn) (Ich liebe und empfehle Holly Black‘s Bücher)

i finished the series today and i really liked the thought about reading it out of taryns perspective.. i would have loved to read a little more tho!! taryn was one of my favorite characters in the books

Ich finde es gar nicht Mal so unwichtig dieses Buch nach the Cruel Prince zu lesen. Man versteht viel besser was passiert ist und wie das alles mit Locke Zustande kam. Auch die Szene, in der Taryn in the Cruel Prince mit Cardan geredet und danach geweint hat, man wusste ja nie was da passiert ist und in dieser Novelle wird all das aufgeklärt. Ich fand den Schreibstil cool, eine Art Entschuldigungsbrief an Jude. Leider mag ich Taryn trotzdem nicht, auch wenn man manche Handlungen vielleicht jetzt etwas besser nachvollziehen kann.

Was soll ich sagen.. von dem was ich gehört habe sollte man nach der Novelle Taryn besser verstehen und etwas mehr mögen. Bei mir hat sich da nicht viel getan. Hab die Novelle nach dem the Wicked King gelesen, weshalb es schön war nochmal den ersten Teil zu wiederholen und daran erinnert zu werden wie fies Cardan zu Beginn war..

Irgendwie unnötig weil man nicht sonderlich viel neues bzw fast gar nichts neues lernt. Die Novelle zeigt einfach nochmal mehr wie dumm und naiv taryn war und zeigt mir wieder Mal warum ich alle Charaktere aus diesen Büchern gottlos nervig finde. Like cool wir kriegen ne neue Perspektive auf paar Szenen und eine neue Szene aber das war's. Ich bin zum Ende hin sogar mehrmals weggedöst lol, also spannend war's schonmal nicht.

Ich bin mehr oder weniger über die Novelle gefallen, als ich durch Audible gebrowsed habe - und dachte echt nicht, dass mir 1,5h so gut gefallen würden. Band 1 quasi aus Taryns Perspektive zu lesen (in Form eines langen Brief-artigen Monologs) ist einfach mega interessant und ich kann mich immer noch nicht entscheiden, ob Taryn wirklich so hoffnungslos verzweifelt war, dass sie blind auf Locke reingefallen ist, oder ob sie nicht doch auch ihren Part gespielt hat. Bis zu einem gewissen Grad…

Meh. An sich sehr interessant die gleichen Geschehnisse aus einer anderen Perspektive zu sehen. Taryn formuliert in der Novelle eine Entschuldigung an Jude für ihr Verhalten. Dabei ist es weniger eine Entschuldigung sondern sie versucht sich die ganze Zeit zu rechtfertigen und sieht die Schuld er bei jude. Ich fand Taryn nach band 1 schon ehr anstrengend und das hat es jetzt auch nicht viel besser gemacht.

It took me a long time to finally decide to read this book, as I thought I wouldn't be interested, but I'm glad that I did after all. I could never really understand why Taryn made the choices that she did, but in "The Lost Sisters" she shows some of the same traits that Jude had, only that she used them differently. It was quite fun to find out how Taryn took her life into her own hands and what she saw her role to be in the present and future.

There's an 80% chance books like these end up being a disappointment. It ended when it got the most interesting.

Die Geschichte an sich ist ganz süß und aus welchen Beweggründen Taryn, eben das getan hat was sie getan hat. Das ganze Problem ist ich finde Taryn, dadurch irgendwie ein bisschen langweilig und ihre Absichten habe ich auch nicht so wirklich als gut wahrgenommen, aber trotzdem mochte ich den Schreibstil, aber es ist definitiv kein Muss für die eigentliche Trilogie, deswegen ja auch nur Band 1.5.

Tudos to Holly Black for writing Taryn, a character I deeply start to hate. Always making up excuses and glorifying her actions. Acting as if her entire life is just a fairytale and that her love for Locke is vindicating everything she let her sister suffer through. As an author it takes a lot of skill to write a character being horrible so well that it infuriates the reader and makes their blood boil. But at the same time this novela managed to truly become morally grey and let the reader question to what extend they can blame Taryn for her actions. Because in the bigger picture, she is only a poor girl manipulated by none other than Locke, who tricked her the same way he tricked Jude. Only to gain some entertainment for himself. So for that master act of creating emotional conflicts in the readers themselves, I can only applaud Holly Black.
