Also ich fand das Buch sehr gut. Viel kann ich jetzt nicht dazu sagen, da ich meine Rezension über die allgemeine Geschichte des Buches ja schon geschrieben habe. Ich lese die Reihe allerdings gerade auf Englisch und ich finde es ist sehr einfach zu lesen. Auch wenn es natürlich ein paar Wörter gibt, die ich nicht kenne ergeben die sich aber meistens aus dem Kontext. Es ist auch eher umgangssprachlich und mit kurzen Sätzen ( nicht mit 5 Kommas oder so 😂) geschrieben. Allgemein fand ich es auf englisch sehr schön, weil es gibt sehr viele schöne Zitate und ich finde es hört sich halt alles nochmal viel schöner auf englisch an. ❤️

Werbung, selbst gekauft, Überblick: - 1/5 Twilight Saga - englische Original Ausgabe aus 2007 - Kleinstadt - Vampire x human Meinung: Ob Film oder Buch, jeder kennt es irgendwie. Aber die englischen Bücher sind und bleiben besonders für mich. Finde, darin kommen die Gefühle richtig gut rüber und such die Atmosphäre von Forks wird so toll beschrieben. Das war nicht mein erster und sicher nicht mein letzter re-read 😍🥹! Auf deutsch habe ich den ersten Band bisher nur gehört irgendwann und das war so ein gemischtes Erlebnis. Schlecht war es nicht, aber es kam mir vor wie ein anderes Buch mit einem völlig anderen Vibe und auch die Charaktere wirkten so vollkommen anders auf mich als in meiner Vorstellung. Natürlich ist die Vorstellung auch extrem durch die Filme geprägt, das ist denke ich die einzige Vorstellung, die wir alle haben. Die Filme sind bald noch berühmter als die Bücher. Ich bin ein großer Fan von beidem, unabhängig davon, ob es vielleicht etwas cringe ist hier und da. Kann Jüngere da schon verstehen 😊, aber für mich bleiben re-read und vor allem re-watch wichtiger Teil meines Lebens. Ich liebe es einfach. Stephenie Meyer hat einfach eine einzigartige Geschichte geschrieben ♥️♥️. Und ich liebe den Farbschnitt meiner Ausgabe 🥹. 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️♥️

I did fall for Edward too and I’m excited for book 2 because I love Jacob. It’s so nice to read all the tension! I love it
Als ich die Reihe gelesen habe, war ich vielleicht 12 und hätte dem Buch 5 Sterne gegeben. Aber jetzt wenn ich zurück denke, sind 3 passender. Ich liebe Vampire und ich finde die Story von dem Menschen, der sich in den Vampir verliebt, sollte jeder mal gelesen haben. Trotzdem sollte man vorsichtig sein und sich bewusst sein, wie sehr Edward romantisiert wird. Er steht nachts in ihrem Zimmer und beobachtet sie beim Schlafen?! Einfach creepy.
Ich habe das Buch schon mehrfach gelesen und jedes Mal mag ich Bella richtig gerne. Sie ist so socially awkward, dass ich die ganze Zeit lachen könnte und kümmert sich wirklich so wenig um ihr eigenes Leben, dass ich sie schütteln möchte. Es ist einfach ein süßes Buch, das Anfang der 2000er geschrieben wurde und ich liebe es, dass man diese Zeit merkt mit einem Modem, Videokassetten, CDs... Herrlich! Also es hat Spaß gemacht und es steht vielen aktuellen YA- Urban Fantasy Büchern in nichts nach!

- zum ersten Mal gelesen - Bella ist viel sarkastischer und sympathischer und weniger steif und leidend wie es in den Filmen dargestellt wird - man erfährt so einiges über Alice -sehr intensives Erleben der Charaktere - fantastischer Schreibstil - viel Vibe, trotzdem Plot

I always loved the movie growing up and now that I have read the book I must say that I like it better. Edward is more flirtatious, but Bella cries to much for no apparent reason. She seems as if she doesn't like Jake at all which didn't come across that way in the movie. Her only purpose in life seems to be Edward. So my conclusion: I like the movie and the book, it is a guilty pleasure but for me it's a 3,7 out of 5 #twilight #bookstagram

i watched the films first but i so wish id read the books now they’re are so detailed.
if you’re going to start a new series for the autumn, go for twilight. it’s the most perfect base for fall and the setting is so beautiful when you get to picture every scene in your head. recommend this book!!

Twilight- Ah So many lovers and so may haters, read or to not read, which one to root? Also the I was like Ah what the heck how can you judge a book by what other people are saying and be like hey I am way too cool to read such a nonsensical book, so I finally gave into it, got myself a copy and read it. I am not too impressed by the book, not as much to fight all the haters but all, not someone who hates it so much and call people stupid if they liked/ loved this book because frankly, the book did have its moments, also Stephenie Meyer isn't a bad writer. Coming to why I did not enjoy the book as much was the major chunk of the book was the love story and the cheesy moments between Bella and Edward which bored me to death, I was not aww-ing or oooh-ing of them, maybe not my cup of tea. What put me off of the book most was the fact that everyone JUST LOVED BELLA SO MUCH even after her being so cold to everything, for most of the book I felt she is a lifeless vampire and not Edward but then suddenly towards the end she cares about her family and I was like uh- what? I would have wanted to see some part of that character in some small scenes or maybe gestures because oh my god she was frustrating. About everyone loving her or the guys wanting to be with her - Why? Didn't get that point at all. I mostly enjoyed the book towards the end which is why there are three stars or else I would have just given it two. I am continuing the series to see if it gets any better. All in all if you like cheesy love stories with sparkly smirking vampires this is your book, pick it up if you haven't already. ;)

I think that this is way better than the movie! I really like this. It was a kind of insta love thing but I enjoy those so I didn’t have any problems with it. I loved how different it was to the movie bit it was still really good.

I really love the adaptation. I'm completely serious. This film isn't a guilty pleasure, it's a pleasure, PERIOD. And it's Twilight season so I decided to re-read the books. Having finished the first one I decided to not read the rest of the series. Because wow, Bella's head is a space I don't wanne be in. I hated it that she constantly described Edwars as "Adonis" or "God-like" because I just pictured Robert Pattinson. And he ain't no Adonis, honey. And his personality, what the fuck. What's wrong with him. Him playing hard to get because he's soooOooooOOoo dangerous (he sparkles in the sun). May be controversial but: #teamjacob
I don't know but I can't give this Story a bad review. It is just that typical teen romance that most girl dream about. (A mythic creature falling in love with her, giving her an escape of the boring life.) Was it a bit over the top at times? Of course but which lovestory isn't nowadays? It had been a while since I've read the book and only had parts of the movie left in my mind. Regardless, since in a few days Meyer's new book in Edwards view is being released I thought why not re - read it. And I never relized more how cringe the movie actually was. How could I ever watch it and enjoy myself??? During my re - read I got to figure out again how lighthearted Bella actually can be. Both Edward and Bella are way more fun in the books, and not just emotionless or selfish creatures. I get that people find Edward toxic or Bella dull but they really aren't that bad.
Look, we all know the movies, we all know the story. Tell me, WHY was he funny? Why was he charming? She suddenly has character? Why did I enjoy reading it? I literally inhaled this to the point that it’s embarrassing. And please don‘t get me started on the instalove. Like what was the reason for them to fall in love?? Yes she smells good (his words not mine) but why did she immediately fall in love with him??? The book is way less cringy than the movie but the lovebombing is so much worse omg To sum it up: I get it - this really is premium trash
Better than I expected: I probably would have liked this a lot more if I had been 15 years younger. The strange characteristics of the vampires on second thought didn't bother me that much anymore: vampires are fantasy creatures after all, so why not describe them in a different way than Bram Stoker did? From this first novel one thing is clear: Stephenie Meyer is really good at writing about nothing. The book's climax (when Bella is trapped in the ballett studio) is so short that it wouldn't be difficult to miss it.
Loved it when I was 10. Laugh about it with 23. And still having fun with it.
The main reason this got a 4 stars instead of a basic 3 stars is because rereading Twilight was highly entertaining to me. I‘m aware of the problems the book series has but it was just fun to read Twilight? I only had the movies somewhat aware in my mind so making up my own mind once again without having the Twilight casting in my imagination - so much better. I don‘t know how it was possible to cast Robert Pattinson as Edward and Kristen Stewart as Bella because they made the characters more bland
It was a super nostalgic reread and although the story has its weaknesses and I needed super long to finish this book, I love it with all my heart
When I first read it back when it came out, I really loved it and couldn't wait for the next book in the series. Over time (and through a university-class) the flaws of this book (and the whole series) became more and more visible for me.

Das Buch war richtig, richtig gut! Der Anfang war ein bisschen holprig aber sonst war es Mega, ich habe die letzten 200 Seiten durchgesuchtet ohne das Buch wegzulegen!
I loved this book and I adore Bella and especially Edward. Not because he's a Vampire and unbeatable... but because of the romance in it... the first love always appears so fragile and precious. This is the think that took my breath away while reading it. Handlung: Die 17-jährige Bella verlässt ihre frisch verheiratete Mutter um von nun an bei ihrem leiblichen Vater in der Kleinstadt Forks zu leben, in einer nördlich gelegenen Gegend wo alles von Grünen Pflanzen überwachsen ist, es zu oft Regnet und Nebelschwaden durch das Land ziehen. Dort macht sie Bekanntschaft mit einem außergewöhnlichen Jungen namens Edward, der ihr gleichzeitig mysteriös und gefährlich, aber auch anziehend und faszinierend erscheint. Durch einen Zwischenfall, in dem Edward Bella das Leben rettet, verknüpfen sich ihre beiden Leben und Bella entdeckt sein düsteres Geheimnis - und zwar, dass er ein Vampir ist… Meine Gedanken zum Buch: Ich liebe dieses Buch und habe es schon oft gelesen, bzw. gewisse Teile davon :)und kann noch immer nicht genug davon bekommen. Ich liebe das Buch, ich liebe Bella und ganz besonders Edward. Nicht weil er ein Vampir ist und somit unschlagbar und ewig jung und stark… sondern wegen seiner Sensibilität, seinem Humor und seiner Intelligenz…. Und ich liebe dieses Buch wegen der Romanze in ihr, die erste Liebe ist immer speziell und erscheint gleichzeitig fragil, aber auch kostbar und wertvoll und einzigartig. Das ist der Grund, der mir beim Lesen den Atem raubte, und nicht die Schnelligkeit und unzähmbare Kraft… es war die Liebe und das Gefühl, welches das Buch grandios weiter vermittelt hat. Man hat sich beim Lesen selber so gefüllt, als ob man in Bellas Schuhen stecke und für sich selber die erste Liebe entdeckt. Ich finde Meyers Schreibstil wirkt zwar im ersten Moment sehr Jugendbuch-mäßig und flach… aber sie versteht es sich faszinierend darauf den Leser damit tiefer zu ziehen und die Gefühle wunderbar weiter zu vermitteln, dass einem selber die Schmetterlinge im Bauch umher flattern. Ich weiß nicht wie sie es macht, aber durch ihre Schreibweise fühlt man sich leicht und unbeschwert und trotzdem fühlt man ganz tief mit. Nur zum weiterempfehlen, für Träumer und für Romanzen- Liebhaber. Cover: Ich finde das englische Cover edel und ausdrucksstark. Besonders gefällt mir der ‚Witz‘ mit dem Apfel gut, da es im Buch, wie auch im Film vorkommt. Fazit: Für jeden zu empfehlen, der noch an die wahre Liebe glaubt und sich gerne verzaubern lässt.
I enjoyed my reread so much. Even though I recognize the problems this book and Bella's and Edward's relationship has, I still felt super nostalgic reading this book, and some of the scenes in this book are just ICONIC.
Ganz ehrlich? Ich wollte das Buch Jahre später nochmal lesen um kritisch zu schauen wie das Abhängigkeitsverhältnis der beiden Protagonisten aufgebaut ist (und ob mich das als Jugendliche beeinflusst hat) und ich hatte LANGE NICHT MEHR SO VIEL SPASS BEIM LESEN :D Kurzweilige Sprache, nachvollziehbare Handlung, sogar das Head-over-heels-in-Love ist super realistisch. Sie haben ne gleichberechtigte Beziehung zueinander die ehrlich kommuniziert und jede*r seine/ihre Bedürfnisse aussprechen darf und dann gemeinsam geschaut wird inwiefern diese realistisch umsetzbar sind. Werder er noch sie stehen fest hierarchisch unter der anderen Person. Unerwarteterweise - großes Lob hier an die Autorin. Klar könnten die Sprache manchmal etwas flüssiger sein oder das Buch generell etwas tiefgründiger. Aber ich hatte einfach ne richtig gute Zeit beim lesen, und am Ende kommts darauf ja auch an.
what else can I say? it's an absolute masterpiece. if you ignore that edward is the world's biggest pedo, bella is the most unlikeable character in all of history, and poor charlie is so unfairly discriminated. but yeah, masterpiece

Zieht sich am Ende
I read this because I'd just returned from a long stint abroad and all my girlfriends were crazy about it. At that point, the fourth book was about to come out, so I figured it was a good moment. I ended up reading them all in the span of a few days. It was like the time I got distracted and ate far too many Spearmint Life-Savers and was sick for three days. You get pulled in, and even as you recognize that the whole mess is dreadful, you can't stop. Well, maybe that's just me; I've always had a hard time not seeing a story through the end, even when it is total tripe. I won't say anything that hasn't been said a million times and much more cleverly before. The writing is pathetic. The relationship between the protagonists is unhealthy at best. The female protagonist is the last role model I'd ever want for my own daughter, or for anyone, ever. I will own that the author creates a character so devoid of her own personality traits that any reader could easily imagine herself in the starring role-- beautiful but unaware of it, clumsy in a way that makes men want to protect her, and adored by the dangerous Adonis desired by every girl. This is not so much her fault as a sad reflection on the state of society, that women want a man who sneaks in their room to watch them sleep, that they consider life to have no purpose for months and months when said man abandons them. Alas, it is what it is. This series does compel one to finish, but leaves the reader (at least me) feeling somewhat sick and depressed for a few days afterward. It's like some kind of detox. No redeeming value or inspiration toward higher thoughts. Just a story of a girl who sees no value in herself outside of her boyfriend.

She did a good job telling a vampire story, but she forgot the main and traditional vampire characteristics: Sharp Teeth, Blood and Sex.

I really love the adaptation. I'm completely serious. This film isn't a guilty pleasure, it's a pleasure, PERIOD. And it's Twilight season so I decided to re-read the books. Having finished the first one I decided to not read the rest of the series. Because wow, Bella's head is a space I don't wanne be in. I hated it that she constantly described Edwars as "Adonis" or "God-like" because I just pictured Robert Pattinson. And he ain't no Adonis, honey. And his personality, what the fuck. What's wrong with him. Him playing hard to get because he's soooOooooOOoo dangerous (he sparkles in the sun). May be controversial but: #teamjacob
I don't know but I can't give this Story a bad review. It is just that typical teen romance that most girl dream about. (A mythic creature falling in love with her, giving her an escape of the boring life.) Was it a bit over the top at times? Of course but which lovestory isn't nowadays? It had been a while since I've read the book and only had parts of the movie left in my mind. Regardless, since in a few days Meyer's new book in Edwards view is being released I thought why not re - read it. And I never relized more how cringe the movie actually was. How could I ever watch it and enjoy myself??? During my re - read I got to figure out again how lighthearted Bella actually can be. Both Edward and Bella are way more fun in the books, and not just emotionless or selfish creatures. I get that people find Edward toxic or Bella dull but they really aren't that bad.
Look, we all know the movies, we all know the story. Tell me, WHY was he funny? Why was he charming? She suddenly has character? Why did I enjoy reading it? I literally inhaled this to the point that it’s embarrassing. And please don‘t get me started on the instalove. Like what was the reason for them to fall in love?? Yes she smells good (his words not mine) but why did she immediately fall in love with him??? The book is way less cringy than the movie but the lovebombing is so much worse omg To sum it up: I get it - this really is premium trash
Better than I expected: I probably would have liked this a lot more if I had been 15 years younger. The strange characteristics of the vampires on second thought didn't bother me that much anymore: vampires are fantasy creatures after all, so why not describe them in a different way than Bram Stoker did? From this first novel one thing is clear: Stephenie Meyer is really good at writing about nothing. The book's climax (when Bella is trapped in the ballett studio) is so short that it wouldn't be difficult to miss it.
Loved it when I was 10. Laugh about it with 23. And still having fun with it.
The main reason this got a 4 stars instead of a basic 3 stars is because rereading Twilight was highly entertaining to me. I‘m aware of the problems the book series has but it was just fun to read Twilight? I only had the movies somewhat aware in my mind so making up my own mind once again without having the Twilight casting in my imagination - so much better. I don‘t know how it was possible to cast Robert Pattinson as Edward and Kristen Stewart as Bella because they made the characters more bland
It was a super nostalgic reread and although the story has its weaknesses and I needed super long to finish this book, I love it with all my heart
When I first read it back when it came out, I really loved it and couldn't wait for the next book in the series. Over time (and through a university-class) the flaws of this book (and the whole series) became more and more visible for me.

Das Buch war richtig, richtig gut! Der Anfang war ein bisschen holprig aber sonst war es Mega, ich habe die letzten 200 Seiten durchgesuchtet ohne das Buch wegzulegen!
I loved this book and I adore Bella and especially Edward. Not because he's a Vampire and unbeatable... but because of the romance in it... the first love always appears so fragile and precious. This is the think that took my breath away while reading it. Handlung: Die 17-jährige Bella verlässt ihre frisch verheiratete Mutter um von nun an bei ihrem leiblichen Vater in der Kleinstadt Forks zu leben, in einer nördlich gelegenen Gegend wo alles von Grünen Pflanzen überwachsen ist, es zu oft Regnet und Nebelschwaden durch das Land ziehen. Dort macht sie Bekanntschaft mit einem außergewöhnlichen Jungen namens Edward, der ihr gleichzeitig mysteriös und gefährlich, aber auch anziehend und faszinierend erscheint. Durch einen Zwischenfall, in dem Edward Bella das Leben rettet, verknüpfen sich ihre beiden Leben und Bella entdeckt sein düsteres Geheimnis - und zwar, dass er ein Vampir ist… Meine Gedanken zum Buch: Ich liebe dieses Buch und habe es schon oft gelesen, bzw. gewisse Teile davon :)und kann noch immer nicht genug davon bekommen. Ich liebe das Buch, ich liebe Bella und ganz besonders Edward. Nicht weil er ein Vampir ist und somit unschlagbar und ewig jung und stark… sondern wegen seiner Sensibilität, seinem Humor und seiner Intelligenz…. Und ich liebe dieses Buch wegen der Romanze in ihr, die erste Liebe ist immer speziell und erscheint gleichzeitig fragil, aber auch kostbar und wertvoll und einzigartig. Das ist der Grund, der mir beim Lesen den Atem raubte, und nicht die Schnelligkeit und unzähmbare Kraft… es war die Liebe und das Gefühl, welches das Buch grandios weiter vermittelt hat. Man hat sich beim Lesen selber so gefüllt, als ob man in Bellas Schuhen stecke und für sich selber die erste Liebe entdeckt. Ich finde Meyers Schreibstil wirkt zwar im ersten Moment sehr Jugendbuch-mäßig und flach… aber sie versteht es sich faszinierend darauf den Leser damit tiefer zu ziehen und die Gefühle wunderbar weiter zu vermitteln, dass einem selber die Schmetterlinge im Bauch umher flattern. Ich weiß nicht wie sie es macht, aber durch ihre Schreibweise fühlt man sich leicht und unbeschwert und trotzdem fühlt man ganz tief mit. Nur zum weiterempfehlen, für Träumer und für Romanzen- Liebhaber. Cover: Ich finde das englische Cover edel und ausdrucksstark. Besonders gefällt mir der ‚Witz‘ mit dem Apfel gut, da es im Buch, wie auch im Film vorkommt. Fazit: Für jeden zu empfehlen, der noch an die wahre Liebe glaubt und sich gerne verzaubern lässt.
I enjoyed my reread so much. Even though I recognize the problems this book and Bella's and Edward's relationship has, I still felt super nostalgic reading this book, and some of the scenes in this book are just ICONIC.
Ganz ehrlich? Ich wollte das Buch Jahre später nochmal lesen um kritisch zu schauen wie das Abhängigkeitsverhältnis der beiden Protagonisten aufgebaut ist (und ob mich das als Jugendliche beeinflusst hat) und ich hatte LANGE NICHT MEHR SO VIEL SPASS BEIM LESEN :D Kurzweilige Sprache, nachvollziehbare Handlung, sogar das Head-over-heels-in-Love ist super realistisch. Sie haben ne gleichberechtigte Beziehung zueinander die ehrlich kommuniziert und jede*r seine/ihre Bedürfnisse aussprechen darf und dann gemeinsam geschaut wird inwiefern diese realistisch umsetzbar sind. Werder er noch sie stehen fest hierarchisch unter der anderen Person. Unerwarteterweise - großes Lob hier an die Autorin. Klar könnten die Sprache manchmal etwas flüssiger sein oder das Buch generell etwas tiefgründiger. Aber ich hatte einfach ne richtig gute Zeit beim lesen, und am Ende kommts darauf ja auch an.
what else can I say? it's an absolute masterpiece. if you ignore that edward is the world's biggest pedo, bella is the most unlikeable character in all of history, and poor charlie is so unfairly discriminated. but yeah, masterpiece

Zieht sich am Ende
I read this because I'd just returned from a long stint abroad and all my girlfriends were crazy about it. At that point, the fourth book was about to come out, so I figured it was a good moment. I ended up reading them all in the span of a few days. It was like the time I got distracted and ate far too many Spearmint Life-Savers and was sick for three days. You get pulled in, and even as you recognize that the whole mess is dreadful, you can't stop. Well, maybe that's just me; I've always had a hard time not seeing a story through the end, even when it is total tripe. I won't say anything that hasn't been said a million times and much more cleverly before. The writing is pathetic. The relationship between the protagonists is unhealthy at best. The female protagonist is the last role model I'd ever want for my own daughter, or for anyone, ever. I will own that the author creates a character so devoid of her own personality traits that any reader could easily imagine herself in the starring role-- beautiful but unaware of it, clumsy in a way that makes men want to protect her, and adored by the dangerous Adonis desired by every girl. This is not so much her fault as a sad reflection on the state of society, that women want a man who sneaks in their room to watch them sleep, that they consider life to have no purpose for months and months when said man abandons them. Alas, it is what it is. This series does compel one to finish, but leaves the reader (at least me) feeling somewhat sick and depressed for a few days afterward. It's like some kind of detox. No redeeming value or inspiration toward higher thoughts. Just a story of a girl who sees no value in herself outside of her boyfriend.

She did a good job telling a vampire story, but she forgot the main and traditional vampire characteristics: Sharp Teeth, Blood and Sex.
