Fourth in the Epic Dark Tower Series…
Wizard and Glass

In 1978, Stephen King introduced the world to the last gunslinger, Roland of Gilead. Nothing has been the same since. More than twenty years later, the quest for the Dark Tower continues to take readers on a wildly epic ride. Through parallel worlds and across time, Roland must brave desolate wastelands and endless deserts, drifting into the unimaginable and the familiar. A classic tale of colossal scope—crossing over terrain fromThe Stand,The Eyes of the Dragon,Insomnia,The Talisman,Black House,Hearts in Atlantis,’Salem’s Lot, and other familiar King haunts—the adventure takes hold with the turn of each page.

And the Tower awaits....

Roland and his band of followers have narrowly escaped one world and slipped into the next. There Roland tells them a tale of long-ago love and adventure involving a beautiful and quixotic woman named Susan Delgado. And there they will be drawn into an ancient mystery of spellbinding magic and supreme menace…

I just saw that King took his time finally writing this book and I'm glad I didn't have to wait 6 years to read the conclusion to the cliffhanger of The Waste Lands. Here we learn more about Roland and his troubling past and to a degree how he became what he is and what motivates him. Also we get some more puzzle pieces to solve the mystery that is All-World. Luckily I read The Stand before moving on with the series and enjoyed the little crossover of worlds here. All in all a great even though long and drawn out read, but that is what you get when buying a King novel. Moving on to "The Wind Through the Keyhole" (#4.5).
