Die Story war wirklich in Ordnung und man kann sie gut lesen, eine richtige Bindung zu den Charakteren konnte ich aber erst gegen Ende aufbauen.
Das ist mein Erstes Buch von Lauren Roberts gewesen & ich das war das erste mal das ich mich an einen schreibstil gewöhnen musste, in die Geschichte kam ich zwar sehr schwer rein bin auch immer mal abgeschweift aber so nach den ersten Kapiteln war ich dann drin und es lief bei mir runter wie Butter, ich fand das Setting toll! Ich konnte mir alles sehr gut vorstellen & wie sich die Szenen dort sehr angespielt haben. die Panem Vibes durch die Säuberungsspiele den sie durchlaufen mussten waren hier für mich spürbar zu sehen & ehrlich gesagt dachte ich nicht das es mir gefallen würde aber es hat mir positiv sehr gut gefallen. die Spannung zwischen Kai & Pae war Hammermäßig & ich bin ehrlich ich hatte wenigstens auf einen Kuss gehofft aber da merkt man wirklich was slowburn Romance heißt was mir nicht gepasst hat war dieses Gespann zwischen Kitt,Pae & Kai ich hab’s nicht so mit Love Triangel ich dachte schon kommt da was zwischen Kitt & Pae ich habe gehofft das es nicht so ist. ich bin eindeutig Team Paedlyn & Kai und es kam da ein Plot den ich null erwartet hätte ich war ehrlich schockiert aber ich hab’s so geliebt Leute! Ich würde am liebsten schon den nexten Teil lesen.
Die Geschichte hat stark angefangen aber gegen Ende leider nachgelassen. Es gab sehr viele Parallelen zu anderen Büchern und ich fand es gegen Ende auch recht vorhersehbar. Dennoch gut zu lesen und ich bin gespannt wie es im zweiten Teil weitergeht.

Ich kann jetzt auf jeden Fall nachvollziehen warum alle Kai Acer so lieben! ❤️ Powerless war für mich wie Hunger Vibes gemixt mit Superkräften. Es war definitiv den Hype wert aber häufig auch sehr vorhersehbar, weshalb es nicht ganz für 5⭐️ gereicht hat

I absolutely loved this book! I loved the characters (especially Paedyn and Kai), the story and the writing style, even if the ending literally destroyed me. The story generally is reminiscent of the Hunger Games. Also, this book reminded me of why Romantasy is the best genre ever because the Enemies-to-Lovers story between Paedyn and Kai is so well written. All in all, I NEED THE SECOND BOOK LAUREN ROBERTS‼️

not only the dynamics between the characters but also the teasing between Kai and Pae had me on the hook. I didn't want it to end and the page turners had me gasping and/or sobbing. I'mma buy every book of the author now. this was so good. would recommend it!

Besonders die Charaktere und deren Beziehungen zueinander haben mich in diesem Buch absolut überzeugt. Die Helden sind moralisch nicht unfehlbar was sie nur umso menschlicher und "echt" rüberkommen lässt. Die Dialoge waren traumhaft und zum Ende hin hat es sich zum absoluten Pageturner entwickelt. 💕
Absolutes Highlight ‼️
Ich mochte das Buch sehr. Paedyn und Kai als Protagonisten fand ich super interessant und die Story war angenehm zu verfolgen - die Trials waren spannend und der Wettkampf Aspekt hat einfach „Spaß“ gemacht. Und gleichzeitig tut das Buch an vielen Stellen einfach weh weil man weiß das etwas passiert und wenn es dann passiert fand ich es auch sehr treffend.
First of all, I want to start on a positive note: Overall, the writing was enjoyable and it had me hooked to end the book, so props to Lauren for that. But, as I read the book in English, there were so many alliterations, and in the end it was way to much. There are so many other stylistic and rhetorical devices, why not use a metaphor or euphemism just once? But enough on the writing, let's get into the actual story: It started out pretty good, I was interested in the magic system, the Plage, the Ordinaries. Unfortunately, this were the only things that were original in here. I know, nothing is really new, everyone has its inspirations, but this just screams hungergames to me from the start (I mean the names also give it away from the start, Kai and Paeydn, it couldn't have been more obvious) and after a third it started to feel like a Katniss×Finnick fanfiction, since Kai reminded me so much of Finnick and his Capital personality. The same with Paedyn, it was so obvious who here inspiration was (like come on she makes an arrow on her own during the games). The games were so boring, it was very clear that the focus was one the lovestory instead on the politics, revolution, intrigue everything in between. And regarding the lovestory, everyone praises the tension between Paedyn and Kai, but I don't see it that way. Both were (probably) in love for the first time and are pretty much confused, Lauren did a good job portraying these feelings. But the so highly praised tension? No, it was not there. Kai was so cocky and full of himself and made fun of Paedyn THE WHOLE TIME, in this case, him calling her 'darling' was not meant in a romantic cute way, but rather in a presumptuous and arrogant way, eventhough she saved him earlier in the story. And no, Paedyn, you don't have a romantic connection to Kai because he KILLED YOUR DAD?! There were also SO MANY plotholes throughout the whole story, it would be to much naming every single one, but one, that I just don't understand: If Kai can feel the power of everyone around him, after meeting Paedyn and her telling him she is a Psychic (I know she is an Ordinary) and that's why he can't feel her powers, WHY not ONCE does he question himself if he maybe killed Psychics in the past?! Like not ONCE?! The ending was pretty messy, but brought a little suspense to it (the fight with the king was nicely written as the only fight scene that was interesting throughout the whole book, I am sorry, but Lauren can't write fight scenes, maybe that's the reason the games were so boring). But it doesn't hook me enough to continue reading the series.
