Beschreibung

'I was going to sea myself; in a schooner with pigtailed singing seamen...to seek for buried treasures!'

When a rum-soaked old buccaneer expires at the Admiral Benbow Inn, young Jim Hawkins finds on him the key to Captains Flint's chest. Concealed in the chest is a treasure-map sought by Flint's confederates, including the sinister blind Pew, but Jim manages to outwit them all and secure the map for himself. So begins his seafaring adventure, but mutiny, piracy and bloodshed are to beset Jim and his fellow travellers before the treasure can be found...

Stevenson's tale of high adventure and suspense has captured the imagination of the public since its first publication. With its unforgettable characters and its compelling narrative it continues to enthral generations of readers of all ages.

I have known the book since I was a child. I think it's a must read for all adventurelover and fans of the sea and pirate theme.

A masterclass on how to make an adventure story really bloody boring.

My first pirate read and I loved it! I read it with little to no expectations and was pleasantly surprised. The main character was sometimes quite stupid and did stupid stuff but I could see past that. The main part that made this book so amazing was Long John Silver. I could not tell what that guy was up to and what his motives were. He had so many turns that I just gave up trying to predict him.
