This series is a wild ride between 18th century philosophy, exploring and questioning of gender roles, utopias that aren't perfect and the discussion of what is a God. All hidden in a greek saga disguised as a SciFi epos. It's quite something and always close to, but not crossing, the line to pretentiousness. It was one of the most exhausting reads I had in a long time, but I am really glad I stuck to it. It's not a series I would recommend unconditionally, but if the short summary above sounds compelling to you, I cannot recommend it enough. For me the series is a 5 out of 5, with the first two book being the highlight of the series because most of the world building (but less of the plot) happens in them.
