Beschreibung

Two rivals torn apart by a dark memory reunite on a deadly hunt—and in an irresistibly twisted fairy tale—in the next steamy standalone fantasy romance from New York Times bestselling sensation Kerri Maniscalco.

A wicked prince determined to save his kingdom.

Gabriel Axton—infamous as the Prince of Gluttony, the self-proclaimed rake of rakes—has always lived for indulgence: in delicious food, in tantalizing women, and most of all, in the thrill of the hunt, where his love of danger can take over. But when his favorite adventure takes a deadly turn, he realizes something is very wrong in his demon court. With the clock ticking, he must turn to the only one who might uncover the truth: a journalist he has spent a decade avoiding…

A reporter hell-bent on finding the truth.

Adriana Saint Lucent has been on the hunt for years—if she could just report something damning enough about that no-good scoundrel Gabriel Axton, she knows others would finally see the demon as she does. But she never expected to turn up a rumor too terrifying to be believed: could the ice dragons to the north be growing restless? Drawn into the secrets of the Underworld, Adriana’s investigation leads her into the place she dreads most…Axton’s infamous court.

A dangerous rivalry—and deliciously twisted fairy tale.

To stop darkness from falling over their kingdom, Axton and Adriana will have to unite against an escalating danger. But with each holding tight to their own secrets, can they find the truth before it’s too late? And what will they do with an equally troubling rumor: that they might not actually hate one another, after all?

So much better than book one! 🙏🏻🖤 🇬🇧🇩🇪

🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧 For me Throne of Secrets was a lot better than Throne of the Fallen. THIS was what I wanted from Envy and didn’t expect to get from Gluttony. The sins, the banter, the throwbacks to Kingdom of the Wicked, the mystery of the curse to solve - it was a wild ride and I loved every second of it! The plot this time around was very interesting and didn’t seem like it was added on to have something else besides 🌶️ scenes, like I felt with Throne of the Fallen. This time the plot to spice ratio was amazing. 🙏🏻 It would’ve been five stars if the ending was a little less rushed. But I did cry a little in the end, it was just that wholesome 🥹🖤 🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪 Throne of Secrets war so viel besser als Throne of the Fallen! 🥹🖤

I would've never thought I would enjoy this one so much! Don't get me wrong, I am a Kerri Maniscalco girl at heart. But if there is one thing that does not catch me at all in fantasy literature, it's dragons. And this book had a hell lot of them! But then Kerri came around the corner with one of the most organic and intriguing couples I have ever read about and totally bewitched me, once again. Reading about Gluttony and Adriana planted a very comforting feeling in my chest. They just worked so well together and were not too overdramatised. They also didn't suffer too much from the miscommunication trope and immediatly found their way into my heart. It was truly a delight to read about their journey! I also loved that the conclusion to all of this basically was: Everybody makes mistakes! One thing that irked me, though, but that was rather minor in the grand scheme of this book, was that the ending felt a little rushed. There was so much time invested in sorting out the emotional war between Adriana and Gluttony and then the last 50 pages were just a rushed conclusion and a randomly thrown in happily-ever-after ending. I just would've wished for 50 more pages at the end of this book to kind of make the ending feel more natural! Other than that, my bets on who the next book is about are clearly on Prince Lust! He got so much page time in this book that it can't be any other way. And about the disappereance of the Hexed Quill: I got my eyes on you, Pride. Can't wait to read the next book in this series and get swept up in hell all over again!
