*3,75/5 ⭐️ lowkey no plot, only vibes and relationship development and i still devoured it. Cyrus is so Aaron-coded, it makes me want to give this five stars, solely for this reason!!
3.5 ⭐️ but the last 100 pages do deserve the round up. This definitely suffered from middle book syndrome in the sense of plot but Cyrus, my new obsession, made up for it. All I can say is that chapter 28-30 had me going feral. It was way to good. I also LOVE Hazan, like this man is too good for us all and I want more of him in the next book. He did carry Kamran's chapters for me, as well as Omid and at the end the entire Squad, if I may call them that. The reason why this wasn't as good to me as the first one(the only point in which the first one is lacking is Cyrus lol), is because the first one had this whimsical, magical feeling about it. The city was described beautifully and seeing Alizeh's day to day life was super compelling. So yeah this feeling the first one had, was missing. This book however did amazing on the character side, crafting an amazing set of them for the last book. I am super excited for "all this twisted glory" because I need more of Cyrus being miserable over Alizeh.
4.5 ⭐ no but when he said : "enough, I beg you. I am only a man, Alizeh, I can only withstand so much torture in one day. Please, leave me. Leave me to what's left of my godforsaken life." I mean I love Aaron Warner but this was even better and together with their conversation before that.... ARGH OMG I'm so in love! Go read this. I dare say that I enjoyed this more than shatter me !
why are you doing this to me?
there was absolutely no plot in this book. maybe 3 things happened that were important to the story but what can i say CYRUS AND ALIZEH
