Delaney Meyers-Petrov is tired of being seen as fragile just because she's Deaf. So, when she's accepted into a prestigious program at Godbole University that trains students to slip between parallel worlds, she's excited for the chance to prove herself. But her semester gets off to a rocky start when she has an awkward encounter with a pretentious upperclassman, Colton Price, whom she has every intention of keeping her distance from.
Colton has been ordered to keep far away from the new girl, and the voices that call to her from the shadows. But the pull of her proves impossible to ignore, and he can't help but be fascinated by her unusual talents.
After a fellow student turns up dead, she and Colton are forced to form a tenuous alliance, plummeting down a rabbit hole of deeply buried university secrets. They soon find themselves up against something old and nameless, an enemy that threatens to tear them - and their forbidden partnership - apart.

But all in all Love them. Love him. Love it. War echt begeistert
I wanted to love this one so bad, especially because someone said it gives Raven boyes and I read that this year for the first time and LOVED it. But let me tell you, just because they mention ley lines like three times, does NOT mean this is like the Raven boys. It felt like the author was trying too much and some things were not properly explained in my opinion, the relationship between the two MC was also not really giving for me… I really appreciated the representation tho

Read this as a buddy-read with my friend Mari. While is was super intrigued by the synopsis, I did not see the creep factor coming as much as is it did; and let me tell you - I loved that. I love a book with a hint of paranormal and something creeping in the dark/ the dark itself creeping, so this was just food for my soul. The characters are super interesting, even the side characters, the only thing that confused me in the beginning, was that the main character is supposed to be deaf, but she kept turning and reacting to sounds, while also saying that she had issues with following conversations in class ect. So we were a bit confused about it, but there is an explanation for it and once we got it, it was perfectly fine. I guess I expected a little bit more of a representation of deafness, but since this book wasn’t about that, it was just one aspect of the character, it was totally fine in the end. Oh and before I forget … the slow burn in this book was giving everything. I loved it so much. Overall I just dearly wish there was more of this world and the people in it, especially with some of the things hinted at in the end. So here to hoping the author might change her mind in the future and will give us more.
