The Traitors Kiss was a solid end entertaining read! I picked it up as an audio book and right from the get go it caught my attention and did not fail to hold it! Though most of the time I am not a reader who enjoys too much of a political plot, the one in this book was captivating and full of surprising twists, that kept the story interesting. I can't give it 5 stars though because I have two major issues with it. Issue Nr. 1: The downplay of other women. In this story I witnessed so many times how other women were degraded as vile and vain because they were more feminine than Sage, more fine than sage or actually liked the prospect of being matched to a husband. Oftentimes this method was used when the author wanted Sage to seem better than the others, because "she is not like other girls". And I, personally, hate it when authors do that, because it feels cheap. There is no shame in being more "classically" feminine and it shouldn't be seen as a bad quality. Issue Nr. 2: The characters were faceless. For most of the character I could not for the love of god imagine what they look like just because they weren't described further than their taint or haircolor. So everyone kind of started melting together into one blank faceless creature and it made it all the more confusing for me to separate all the different people in the army ranks or the escorted ladies. Other than that, I am intrigued to see what will happen in the next book in this series!
