Die Liebesgeschichte zwischen Clare und Henry wird aus beiden Sichten erzählt. Die ersten 350 Seiten hatte ich schnell gelesen , dann wurde es etwas langatmig.
yuck, them meeting when she was 6 and he was 35 was disgusting, just grooming, had to dnf. also just poorly written. plus the subtle, not so subtle, racist stereotypes... written in 2003 (!) ... ew
Durchgehend unterhaltend. Ich habe das Buch angefangen, weil ich danach den Film mit Rachel McAdams sehen will. Das Poster für den Film sieht aus wie der generischste Nicolas Sparks Liebesfilm. Dementsprechend hatte ich ein sehr ödes Buch Erlebnis erwartet. Das Gegenteil war der Fall. Einer meiner Lieblingsfilme heißt „About Time“. Auch hier spielt Rachel McAdams die Frau eines Zeitreisenden. Die Story bei „About Time“ ist allerdings viel weniger complex und hat einen anderen Fokus. Während das Zeitreisen in „About Time“ nur ein witziger Faktor ist, wirft „die Frau des Zeitreisenden“ einen sehr interessanten Blick auf diesen Aspekt. Der Titel des Buchs wäre sonst auch eine Enttäuschung gewesen. Die Art und Weise wie hier wird, ist so herrlich durcheinander. Ein sehr gewagtes Kunststück der literarischen Kunst, das der Autorin erstaunlich gut gelingt. Wie auch bei Stephen Kings „Carrie“ wird hier über eine übernatürliche Fähigkeit eines Menschen geschrieben als hätte es sie wirklich gegeben. Ich kann es kaum erwarten diesen Film und danach die Serie dazu zu sehen!
Audrey Niffenegger is the author of The Time Traveler’s Wife which was her first novel and was published in 2003. The Time Traveler’s Wife is about Clare and Henry who are a couple. But not just a normal couple because they met first when Clare was six and Henry was thirty-six and they got married when Clare was twenty-two and Henry was thirty. That is because Henry is a time traveler. This way Henry appears in Clare’s life every once in a while during her childhood and teenage life through his time traveling ability. The novel covers the whole life of both of them from their childhood to the time they get old. The story is really fascinating because it goes back and forth in time throughout the whole book. In the beginning, this is a bit confusing for the reader since you really have to concentrate in order to follow the story. But after a while you get used to the changes in time and once you got to know the characters better you start to enjoy the story of their lives! Both main characters are described really detailed and it is fun getting to know them while they grow up. Audrey Niffenegger describes everything with a great sense for details and after a while I felt like part of the story and couldn‘t stop reading until I finished the book. Big compliment to the author for such a great novel! I am definitely going to read her second novel as well! I definitely recommend The Time Traveler’s Wife to everybody who wants to read a unique and compelling love story!

Great book, loved crying into my pasta while reading it.
I don't know if it's me or what but this didn't give me the same feeling that a lot of other people seem to have about this book. It was just okay to me.
