About the Author


Michael R. Baker studied history at the University of Sunderland. He began writing the Counterbalance series after growing bored during a long bus ride. Michael is an avid video gamer, and writes an extensive blog about his favorite games. Alongside his passion for world building, writing and gaming, he also creates maps, bringing his own fantasy world, as well as other peoples’, to cartographic life. The Thousand Scars is Michael’s debut novel, and the first of an epic fantasy series.
