Being Naughty Has Never Been So Nice!
When Lyla's father retired as CEO of the toy company which has been in their family for generations, she was meant to receive his shares. Instead, she discovers the company is bankrupt and her father has given her shares to Mason Klaus, an investor known in the corporate world for his cold and callous nature. Much to Lyla's frustration, her only option is to run the company with him, despite their evident loathing for one another.
When Mason cancels the annual Christmas party, Lyla throws it anyway - only for the event of the season to result in a terrible fire. With the offices and Lyla's credibility ruined, Mason offers her a deal: he'll forget her part in the disaster, but she must join his family for the twelve days of their Christmas holidays.
Taken to a fantastical winter wonderland, Lyla hopes that she might discover some of the secrets Mr Klaus is hiding, and maybe even a way to get her company back. However, when Mason introduces her to the secret village as his fiancée, she is horrified to realise she has no choice but to go along with the pretence - because the cost of bringing an outsider to their magical land is far too high.
Can Lyla resist the devilishly handsome Mr Klaus and the enchanting village to win back her company, or will she give into temptation?

This was overall a quick and enjoyable read! The story was a nice spin on Santa Clause set in a more modern atmosphere. I very much liked the idea and I think any Christmas loving person would appreciate it!Though it was rather fast paced, I didn't feel like we were necessarily rushing anything. I particularly liked how the story was set up and I hadn't had to read through a lot of intro material or many chapters of introductions to get to the main plot. I was definitely intrigued after the first third of the book.I can't say I was surprised about the ending nor the "plot twist", if you can call the Natalie-council-scene that. Though contrary to what I said about being fast paced and not rushed, the ending did felt a bit quick.I liked the cast. Although I felt like most of them missed some character-personality. However, this was probably due to the nature of the book. Mrs Klaus was an absolute gem. Kevin was a delight! I very much enjoyed whenever he came into the picture. Would have absolutely loved having more of him and his witty and direct comments and maybe even more of him with either Mason or Lyla. Mason said some really nice things, which would make any woman fall for him. Although this man had some serious mood swings..The relationship between Lyla and Mason was well built. You could see how she warmed up to him throughout the book. The hand little hand squeezes say everything. I also liked that Lyla was building a relationship with Lou and Kevin!Something I equally liked and didn't liked were that some scenes (anything when people were moving from A to B and shifting positions was a bit chaotic) and dialogues (mainly anything after the fight  in the office and before the last council meeting) were cut short and rather less detailed. I would have loved some more in sight and explanations. It's a nice, short story if you want something seasonal for the holidays.

4.5 Stars I never expected a christmas romance to make me feel as this has. Oh how I loved this. The characters were all so loveable and still made mistakes which I adored. The christmas and magic was so beautiful and some scenes just really made me sob. I didn’t expect this to be as sad as it was, making me cry IN PUBLIC. Topics of grief and parental issues were discussed so beautifully. Wow. (If I’d knew there was fake dating involved I definitely would’ve read this so much sooner)
