This is one of the best sequels I've ever read. A brilliant plot with all the political intrigues and the characters that I love or hate or simply don't know how to feel about. I especially adored the development of Nahri, I love her so so much. The writing is just on point. Every time I opened the book I was immediately right there in this magical world in the middle of the action. The last part had me holding my breath and raised my pulse quite a bit. And some of it broke my heart.

Somehow, I didn't get into the story. Not enough Nahri & Dara action 🙈

It's a good thing the third book is on hold at my library cause I need time to process and also sleep off some of the hours I lost while staying up glued to these pages. I'm blown away and actually a little grateful I've only just discovered the series because waiting for that third book for a whole year honestly sounds like torture. I don't think I can put my thoughts and feelings into a well-written review as of now so I'm afraid you'll have to make do with some gifs. Me during the last 100pages: My feelings for Dara: Nahri: Ali:

Loved the new book but somewhat hated the cliffhanger at the end. Can't wait for the next one
