Libby who was adopted when she was a baby inherits a mansion on her 25th birthday. She wants to learn more about her birth parents and why she is the sole heir to their fortune. Henry, a child who grew up in said mansion, shares the story of his family’s riches to rags story. Lucy is homeless and a single mom of two. When a calendar tells her that the baby has turned 25, she does everything to return to her old home. This unraveling of a compelling family drama is told from three different perspectives set both in the past and the present. I was taken by all three narrators and was eager to find out their secrets as well as what has happened to the family living in the Chelsea mansion in the past. It was a creepy, disturbing, sometimes confusing, fast paced, easy to read book and I couldn't put it down.
I listened to the audiobook for this one. I so have to say, in the end it was quite interesting to find out what happened. Thought the story however, I did have difficulty following who's story I was currently listening to (maybe due to the similar names, maybe just because of the audiobook). Also, I didn't think this book was particularly thrilling but rather a mystery. which is not bad per se but the mystery itself was quite a slow burn I thought. I was hoping to get a good glimpse of Lisa Jewell's book, but reading the other reviews I feel like I have to try another one to understand the hype! ☝️
I don’t even remember what happened wth

4.5✨ Woah, that was some really freaky idea for a book. Literally sooooo cool and well written. DID NOT see the plot twist at all or the character change. Highllllly recommend because it didn’t leave me feeling as weird as her other book did.
