The truth is out there! This is an enjoyable 90s small town murder mystery. And I'm always up for X-Files, Xena and Buffy references. Series I'm still comfy-watching occasionally. The problem I keep having with the author's books is that I'm just not feeling the vibe. While on the surface this should be completely up my alley, I failed to connect. The mystery and supernatural parts are great - while the prank part I just couldn't care about. The FMC is quirky, but she also reads quite young (more 14 than 17) and comes across as annoying too many times. The side characters are fine but didn't get me hooked. The romance is what you might expect from a more middle-grade coded novel (OMG he's kissing me) The conclusion fell a bit short for me. While this book wasn't for me, I do see other readers enjoying it a lot - so give it a try.
