Beschreibung

Ronan Lynch has secrets. Some he keeps from others. Some he keeps from himself.

One secret: Ronan can bring things out of his dreams.

And sometimes he's not the only one who wants those things.

Ronan is one of the raven boys - a group of friends, practically brothers, searching for a dead king named Glendower, who they think is hidden somewhere in the hills by their elite private school, Aglionby Academy. The path to Glendower has long lived as an undercurrent beneath town. But now, like Ronan's secrets, it is beginning to rise to the surface - changing everything in its wake.

Of THE RAVEN BOYS, ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY wrote, "Maggie Stiefvater's can't-put-it-down paranormal adventure will leave you clamoring for book two." Now the second book is here, with the same wild imagination, dark romance, and heart-stopping twists that only Maggie Stiefvater can conjure.

I loved that the book revealed more about Roman secrets and his character in general, FINALLY we get proof that he has a crush on Adam

"Reality's what other people dream for you." Maggie Stiefvater really worked her magic again with this one. I loved the enchanted prose and tried not to speed through the book but to take my time and relish every word. Also I want to be 17 again and join Gansey's quest for Glendower right now!!! Reading this for the second time I realized I really have a soft spot for the Lynch-Kavinsky combo.

RONAN LYNCH! That’s it, really.

3,5 / 5 Well, well, well. What should I say? It's not that I didn't enjoy it or anything, but I expected more. A lot more. The ending of the first book really blew me away. Everything made so much more sense, and everything cane together so nicely. But exactly that was missing in this book. I wasn't blown away by any reveal, or any action, or anythint at all. I mean yeah, we all read this series because of the characters, not the plot. Because this book once more showed that there actually (if we're honest) is no plot. However, the first book did something with me that was definitely missing here. Not that I didn't enjoy the book, it was fine, but the whole time I was waiting for a super interesting and twisted reveal; but it never came, which is kind of a let-down. Let's talk about the characters, though. I love the boys so much, every single one of them, and I want all of them to be happy and qith each other. Especially Ronan, my little cinnamon roll. But Blue? I have no feelings towards her whatsoever. All the other characters are so vibrant in my head, their character-traits so shiny and clear. But for Blue? Nothing. If anyone asked me to describe her character, I just simply wouldn't be able to. I have the feeling that she is so far away from me, not quite woven into the story nicely. Without her the story would be fine too, imho. If not better, because the whole love drama just really annoyed me in this book. Just let the boys do their work, damn. All in all it was a good book, and because I want to finish this series this year I also bought the last two books already. Now, however, I need a bit of a break from these guys.

to be honest, i don't even know where to begin. it's just that every few pages i thought to myself "oh. that's my favourite scene!" it's these characters that seem to be real. it's the genius writing that leaves me breathless even though i've read it for the 3rd (4th?) time. maggie stiefvater talks about self-hatred, self-harm, and mental illness by telling a fantasy story. she manages to make this serious book so much fun. she talks about friendship and love - and that's my favourite thing about this series: how everyone loves and supports each other even when they don't understand everything about the other! another aspect i love how the many different stories intersect in 'the raven cycle', making it such a rich story that i can get something more out of it with every reread. the pacing, the foreshadowing, the voice(s), everything about this book is just right and speaks to me on so many levels. (also, i love my children. <3)
