Vor einigen Monaten hatte ich das Buch schon mal angefangen, aber war irgendwie nicht in der richtigen Stimmung. Heute als Hörbuch begonnen und es hat mich so richtig mitgerissen, so dass ich es in einem Rutsch bis zuende hören musste. Mal eine etwas andere Romance, fand ich gut.

Habs richtig geliebt <3 ich hasse Misskommunikation in Büchern, aber sich selbst zu verstehen & sich seinem Partner anvertrauen ist auch nicht so easy wie es klingt. Deshalb mochte ich die Reise von beiden Charakteren sehr. Ich musste über manche Klischees sehr sehr schmunzeln & liebe die Idee eines solchen Buchclubs :D

Eine humorvolle, leichte Liebesgeschichte für zwischendurch. Der Wechsel zwischen den Perpektiven von den Hauptcharakteren fand ich sehr erfrischend und die Auszüge aus dem Buch des Buchclub. Der Buchclub an sich rückt allerdings eher in den Hintergrund. Trotzdem eine gelungenes Buch, welches durchaus seine Tiefen vorzeigt.

4 stars. I read this book in a book club, which is pretty fitting I think. It's not the best book I have ever read. However, it's light, funny and quick to read. What is this book about? Thea and Gavin have been married for three years, but things have been a bit rocky and Thea quite suddenly files for divcore. Gavin wants to fix their marriage and asks his friends for adivce. They reveal to him that they host a book club where they read romance novels and use the input from the books as advice for their relationship problems. This book is written from both Thea's and Gavin's perspectives, featuring some excerpts from the book Gavin is supposed to read to fix his marriage. The book he is reading is called "Courting the Countess" and is quite parallel to the real life. Those scenes were okay, but probably not the best romance novel I ever read. The "real" story however has a great style. It's funny, the characters are loveable and the book overall touches just the right amount of problematic topics. I love the way Gavin tries to resolve their problems and really gives it his all. The guys from the book club are funny, and I feel like they are an accurate represenation of "guy pals". But I gave the book 4 stars, so I obviously have some problems with it... And that problems lie mostly with Thea's argumentations. I just couldn't follow her points most of the time. And she sometimes was just so unreasonable. Which, when you are emotionale, is bound to happend. But that's just something I struggled with. Overall I enjoyed the book and will probably continue this series, even though the female protagonist is Liv, and I didn't like her in this book. But then again, a protagonist you don't like is an interesting set-up...

Love the storyline and the spice, also like the idea of a mens bookclub... will read the next book for sure!!!

Wunderschön und Lustig zugleich

Ich habe Gavin und Thea als Paar geliebt sie waren einfach wirklich wundervoll zusammen und haben den anderen mit all seinen Macken respektiert. Auch die Zwillinge der beiden haben einen großen und schönen Teil im Buch eingenommen. Liv, die Schwester von Thea ging mir an der ein oder anderen Stelle etwas auf die Nerven, besonders als Thea und Gavin sich wieder angenähert haben. Alles in Allem ein zuckersüßes und auch lustiges Buch🥰🌸 4/5 ⭐️ für mich

Die Ehe des Profisportlers Gavin liegt in Scherben zerbrochen vor ihm und er weis nicht so recht, wie er damit zu Recht kommen soll. Schließlich ist Thea die Liebe seines Lebens. Als er dann von seinen Freunden zu einem geheimen Buchclub mitgenommen wird, schöpft er nach und nach wieder Hoffnung seine Ehe wieder retten zu können. Gemeinsam lesen sie Liebesromane, analysieren sie und versuchen so ihre Frauen besser zu verstehen. Doch eine Regel gibt es: “Verliere nie ein Wort über den Buchclub!” Die Idee des Buches finde ich sehr innovativ und ungewöhnlich. Auch habe ich von vielen gehört, dass das Buch sehr lustig sein soll, doch davon habe ich leider relativ wenig mitbekommen. Zwar gab es ein paar lustige Stellen, aber viel mehr auch leider nicht. Ein paar Charaktere haben mich auch sehr gestört und genervt, unter anderem auch Liv. Um sie geht es im 2. Teil der Reihe. Zum Glück wurde sie mir zum Ende hin ein bisschen sympathischer. Der Rest war eigentlich echt super und wurde gut umgesetzt. Ich hätte mir nur mehr lustigere Stellen gewünscht. Fazit: Das Buch ist in seiner Idee sehr inovativ, leider haben mich ein paar Charaktere sehrgestört und ich hatte das Buchh mir lustiger vorgestellt. Ich gebe dem Buch 3,5 von 5 Sternen.

Der ganze Bromance Club ist wie eine kleine Comedy Show gewesen, auch wenn man bei genaueren Hingucken das ganze eher als Fragwürdig betrachten würde. Männer, die in Romancen nach Antworten für ihre Beziehung suchen… Das heißt aber nicht, dass man das auch wirklich immer und bei jeder Frau anwenden kann. Aber darauf habe ich mich auch gar nicht konzentriert, denn ich wollte mich einfach fallen und amüsieren lassen. Und das habe ich auch! Thea ist eine wirklich starke junge Frau und Mutter, die Gavin vielleicht nicht verdient hätte. Sie gab all ihre Träume wenn nicht sogar ihr Leben für ihn und ihre ungeplanten Kinder auf. Musste viel zurückstecken und verlor sich selbst so langsam in der Beziehung. Natürlich muss man dann irgendwann den Schlussstrich ziehen, denn man sollte sich niemals selber aufgeben für jemand anderen. Manchmal muss man sich selber als Priorität setzten. Sie ist einfach ein herzensguter Mensch, besonders wie sie mit Gavins Stottern umgegangen ist! Gavin hingegen ist alles andere als perfekt und das weiß er auch. Er hat vieles falsch gemacht, in jeglicher Hinsicht. Aber er gibt die Liebe nicht auf und möchte alles dafür tun, dass es besser wird. Manchmal klappt das aber eher schlecht als recht… Und egal was er sagt, Liebe reicht nicht immer aus. Fazit: Das Buch war für mich eine schöne Unterhaltung und Thea stellt eine richtige PowerFrau da, Gavin hingegen ist kein wirklicher bookboyfriend für mich…

2,5 / 5 stars Unfortunately, this book did not live up to the hype QUITE as much as I expected it to. I loved the concept of the book, but the execution was a bit lacking for me. What was especially striking was that I did not like any of the characters. Liking the characters and being invested in their story is a major point which contributes to the enjoyment of the book for me, but since this book didn't deliver in this case, I was a bit disappointed, and sometimes just didn't care what was gonna happen to them. Additionally, I found some of the dialog to be a bit cringy and over the top. Some of the things said in the "book club" itself were soooo weird? I don't want to make assumptions, but I don't think any person talks like that with someone else. Pretty prose might work in writing, but not in dialog IMO.

All human beings are a work in progress, and we don't all change at the same pace. Oh boy. Oooooh boy. Oh boy, oh boy. This started off quite strong - I was entertained, it made me chuckle a few times. But then it got more and more unrealistic and quite frankly - it was a pain in the arse. Let's start with the Bromance Book Club, aka the most unrealistic portrayal of men that's even been written. I mean, "Modern romance novelists use the patriarchal society of old British aristocracy to explore the gender-based limitations placed on women today in both the professional and personal spheres." Show me a f*cking baseball player - or half of the team, I think they all played - who talks like this! "But we must find a way to produce and enjoy content that celebrates the fierceness of women without, at the same time, belittling a woman's ability to decipher fact from fiction." Oh, fuck off. The sex scenes were awkward. He refers to her body parts as "her pink parts" and he saw "her blessedly bare feet". I didn't want to see any part of her - Thea was such a beast. I cannot imagine that anyone rooted for their marriage?! Her sister wasn't any better and constantly asked Thea to divorce Gavin. The excerpts from this Regency novel annoyed me. I skipped them after the third chapter. And their entire marriage was nearly over because she.... faked her orgasms? What's the big deal? UGH. I can't believe a woman wrote this book. I'm sure there were many other aspects I hated but I prefer to never think about this book ever again.

4.25 Stars! this book was a very fast read, i literally read it in a day! im not a huge fan of second chance romances or books where the couple is already married and try to “reconnect”. however, i really enjoyed this book. it seemed so real and raw, my heart literally broke for the kids and how they suffered from the divorce. one thing i didn’t like and why it isn't a 5 star read is the sister!!! and thea. the sister was annoying and way too involved in their marriage, she even lived with them and had an opinion for literally everything thea did. thea was at times also annoying but i do understand the reasons for that and really liked that the author included a valid reason lol i will definitely read the other books in the series

I absolutely loved this book! The couple and their troubles are so genuine. You can tell they love one another and don’t want their marriage to end. Definitely a lesson to communicate with your significant other.

A funny book to just relax! Gavins Ehe steht so gut wie vor dem Aus. Doch er möchte um seine Frau Thea kämpfen. Sein bester Freund aus dem Baseballteam kommt ihm zu Hilfe, und nimmt ihn mit zu einem Treffen des geheimen Book Clubs. Dort lesen die Männer aus Nashvilles High Society Liebesromane um sich Tipps zu holen und unter anderem um Gavins Ehe zu retten. First Rule about the Book Club - don‘t talk about the Book Club! Ich fand die Idee und auch die Geschichte einfach nur mega lustig und das war es auch beim Lesen. Ich glaube, aber dass für viele das Buch eher problematisch im Sinne von Sexismus rüberkommt. Das war auch teilweise so aber ich bin da eher weniger empfindlich und habe das hier einfach nicht so ernst genommen. Gavin war einfach perfekt für diese Geschichte mit seiner etwas unbeholfenen Art, der sich dann auf so etwas einlässt. Ich habe bei vielen gelesen, dass sie Thea gar nicht mochten, aber dem stimme ich nicht zu. Ich mochte sie eigentlich. Ihre Schwester dafür gar nicht. Ich kam mit ihrer Art irgendwie nicht klar. Die Guys aus dem Book Club mochte ich echt gern. Das einzige was mich gestört hat, war das sie „den Russen“ immer nur so bezeichnet haben. Hat er keinen Namen? Auch die Späße und der Humor über ihn war gar nicht meins. Der Schreibstil auf Englisch war locker und einfach zu folgen. Es ist abwechselnd aus Gavins und Theas Sicht geschrieben. Was ich besonders toll fand war, dass man auch Kapitel aus dem Buch, das die Guys lesen, lesen konnte. Es ist einfach zu gut wie Gavin Sätze daraus 1:1 zu Thea sagt.

Great concept, not enough book club. Maybe the next in the series will offer more. The few book club scenes that were in there were just so good!

Very wholesome read. It is funny and cute. It deals with problems, but unlike some other romances (ugly love, it ends with us etc.) it doesn’t deal with dark topics. Even the problems aren’t that bad so I found this book very relaxing. Despite this the book was very good, I laughed, I nearly cried and I fell in love. It was a cute romance without being too fluffy
