This is a beautiful novel about three women in three countries of three continents whose destinies are inevitably unified by their life-changing setbacks. The primary focus lies on their strong willingness to step up in life and give it a purpose that serves their needs best. Therefore, they are not shy of breaking rules and traditions. But it takes some sacrifices as well. I absolutely loved being on this eventful journey with Smita from India, Giulia from Sicily and Sarah from Canada and witness how their lives were ´plaited into a braid´ by a casual chain. Much love goes to the author Laetitia Colombani, who has raised my awareness of the sourcing, processing and distributing of real hair around the globe. This is my second novel by Colombani, whilst "The Braid" is her debut novel. Written fluently from omnipresent views, she manages to combine three different stories within 250 pages. A very insightful read! Easy 5 stars! #BookClubJuly #India #Diversity
