Bill Bryson's The Body is just perfect!
I have read one of his books two years ago and fell in love with his writing style. And this book just proved my point of view! It's a funny but also serious guide through the body, from cells through organs to the death. It contains images, which I really liked, and is just a very well written book. I love Brysons writing, that's for sure. It's a recommendation for everyone who wants to dig into science but not too much. I study biology and I can say that this book is not too much. It's just a really nice balance of facts, fun and historical stories behind the facts or persons who build the base of the knowledge.

microbes are amazing also somewhat sad how humans and our education growing up are so detached from the ecosystem that many think microbes are disgusting, while humanity couldn’t exist without them the body itself wouldn’t function nor live, let alone the necessary resources 🪴
