Let's start with the cover. I think it's strangely beautiful, but it also freaks me out (I just don't like masks). The writing is a little "clipped" in places? As the MC narrates the story, they reflect her thought processs. Sentences are short. And separate. And that's annoying. It just doesn't feel like literature to me. /shrugs However, the setting for this is interesting, The Game is much like a not-so-secret secret society - everybody knows it exists, but people don't exactly know what's going on. So while The Game is on, you cannot trust anyone, not even your best friends. This conflict is very well conveyed in this book, imho, and part of why the whodunnit is extremely well done I had the killer on my list of suspects, but the further I read the less prominent they were. By the time everything unraveled, I had only ranked them fifth. My only issue with this book is that I never truly got into the MC's head, I just couldn't really relate to her. But that's okay, the MC rarely is my favorite character. :D
